Chicago White Hawk’in Cutler

Posted: August 8, 2017 by Daniel Kupres in baseball, football, sports, Sports Time Radio

It’s been many moons since I’ve put the “pen to paper” but a couple stories really sparked my interest and I just had to put my two cents out there.  I may be a couple days late but whatever.

IMG_0390 The Hawk

Hawk Harrelson says he’ll never go back to Wrigley Feild.  Well lets get the obvious out of the way, Who cares!  He’s been broadcasting full time with the White Sox since 1990 and it takes him until now after announcing that he will retire after next season to say what a joke the facilities for the broadcasters and the visiting clubhouse are.  If it was so bad, why didn’t he just not go this year?  Like others have brought up, does it have anything to do with the fact that he can’t hold the White Sox World Series wins over Cubs and the fans?

Now anytime that I’ve mentioned how he annoys the hell out of me and it actually ruins me from watching White Sox games, Big Jack brings me back to Earth to remind me that he is the last of the old school broadcasters that are not cookie cutter and actually show some emotion and enthusiasm for the team.  I began to put my attitude for him to the side and respect that he is the end of the old school broadcaster that we wil never see again.

Now don’t get me wrong, i am not going to sit here and tell how great the Cubs television broadcast team are because they are not.  Casper fits that defininition of the cookie cutter and JD, well I never understood how when he was brought in, Theo and company kept talking about the Cubs way this, Cubs way that, bought the color announcer is a long time Astro.  Not to mention the fact with some things he says makes its hard to believe that he even played the game.  I digress but in the end, The Hawk should just take an early retirement and personally, I think it would be amazing if the White Sox went retro and just let Steve Stone call the games by himself, Vin Scully style.

Jay Cutler Jay Cutler

Now, Sunday was to many a baffling day to many, the Miami Dolphins went and signed Jay Cutler.  I don’t know a whole lot about the situation down there but my thoughts good for Jay.  What I think is hilarious is Chicago radio and the Super Bears fans who worshipped this guy when Lovie was Coach but now he’s trash.  Whether you like him or not, unless Mitch makes it 10 full seasons as the Bears starter, Jay will go down as one of the greatest QB’s in Bears history.  Now, I can sit here and list the records he holds but will you can use Bing and see for yourself.

Now I’m not back peddling and saying I was his biggest supporter because I wasn’t.  I think what Bears fans don’t want to recognize and I understand why, Loyalty to the Bears and being a life long fan of the team, but at some point we have to realize when it came to the Bears and Jay Cutler, they had no clue and still haven’t shown they have a clue as to what the hell they are doing when it comes to building an offense.  Let’s not forget Jay had a new coach every couple years and new coordinators and a line that couldn’t protect him.  They wanted him to be the QB he wasn’t.  When they used his arm, they overused it.  I’ll say it, I think he had all the talent but not the leader you needed to win a Super Bowl and sadly the Bears couldn’t find that coach was that man.

After it is all said and done, I think it will be interesting to watch both the Dolphins and Bears this season, but I really can’t wait until he retires and we give it some time and the response he will get when he comes back to Chicago as a Bears Hall of Famer but will he be an NFL Hall of Famer?  Only time will tell.

The top two pitchers acquired at the trade deadline made their first starts for there new teams as Sonny Gray started for the New York Yankees on Thursday and Yu Darvish took the mound for the Dodgers on Friday.

Gray made his start on the road against the Cleveland Indians. He lasted 6 innings giving up 4 runs with just 2 of them being earned on 4 hits while striking out 6 and walking 3. Gray threw 98 pitches, but ended up taking the loss as the Indians won the game 5-1. The loss evened Gray’s record at 6-6 this season, but his E.R.A. came down a couple of points to 3.41 on the season.

Darvish also made his first start for his new team on the road as he faced the New York Mets. Darvish pitched 7 innings and didn’t give up any runs. He allowed 3 hits while striking out 10 and walking 1 in the Dodgers 6-0 win. Darvish threw 99 pitches in his outing and with the win improved his record to 7-9 on the season. He also brought his E.R.A. down to 3.81.

While it’s just one start for each guy and you wish people wouldn’t jump to conclusions you know they will. Darvish did have the better first start, but Gray was probably facing the better line up. Darvish also got more run support than Gray did, but I don’t know how many people will see that. These guys will each have more starts down the road to be judge on as it’s too difficult to say that the Dodgers made the better trade after just one start.

The one take away from the game for me was that neither guy threw more than 100 pitches. In this new era of baseball 100 pitches seems to be the magic number as to when you take your starter out of the game. With the kind of money players make in today’s game it’s smart for teams to protect their pitchers as it seems as though just about everyone of them has had Tommy John surgery already. I am starting to wonder if will ever see pitchers get into the 7th, 8th or even 9th inning of games. Now the specialties of major league bullpens have had some affect on this, but there are other reasons for pitchers being handle the way they are now.

It use to be that after baseball season you moved on to the nest sport of that season. In the fall most athletes would play football or run cross country. Then come winter time there would be the basketball team or the wrestling team to play on. Then it was time for baseball season. There may have been more options for you, but these where the choices I had when I went to school. More or less what I’m saying is the lids got a break from a sport even if it as the sport they where best at. Now they may have done workouts for the sport they where best at, but it wasn’t their lively hood like it’s treated now.

It seems as though the way it’s treated now if you show talent at one sport at a young age; that’s your sport for life. Now in some cases it works out wonderfully. Bryce Harper’s parents realized he had a talent for baseball at a young age and his father managed his career to get him into the majors as soon as possible. Of course the question is how many kids who are dedicating their life to baseball right now are going to be the next Bryce Harper?

Now in the majority of these cases it’s not the kids fault. They are just simply listening to their parents. Now it’s understandable that every parent wants to see their child excel at whatever their chosen field might be, but there’s a point in time when you have to know when to pull back especially when it comes to throwing a baseball.

Throwing a baseball is one of the most unnatural motions a body can do. Now imagine if your a 8 or 9 year old kid and you’ve shown that you have pitching talent. How many pitched are you going to throw in your lifetime? and how long will your arm hold up? Now the league the kids play in have been trying to do their best to limit how much these kids throw with inning and pitch counts, but there’s no holding them back in the off season when the parents are in control.

So your baseball season ends and instead of looking into a new sport to play you go right into specialized pitching training. Now these are kids that are anywhere from age 8 to college players. Now even under the best supervision in the world; how much throwing is too much throwing for an arm? There are kids in high school who have had Tommy John surgery.

Now I get it and it’s probably I don’t have a kid to push into a sport and try to live out my dreams through, but you have to learn when to dial it down and give the kids a break. I don’t want to hear the garbage that they could get injured playing another sport because they could get that injury anywhere. They’re kids!

Now it would be nice to see Major League Baseball step up and try to help this situation out, but they’re never going to come out and tell kids to play other sports. Too be fair though none of the other major sports league would do that, The fact that it seems you have to throw 100 m.p.h. to get noticed by a major league team doesn’t help either as kids work to get to that number.

Now I don’t know when or why how hard you throw is what natters instead of how good of a pitcher you are. Think about this. A pitcher like Greg Maddux who won 355 games in his career might not even get a second look from a scout now because he never lit up the radar gun when he was pitching. Let that register for just a minute. A pitcher who is in the Hall of Fame and went in on his first ballot may not of ever played the game because of the way scouting has changed. Maddux is just the one example that popped into my mind, but I’m sure there are many, many more out there.

I remember when getting people out was the most important job the pitcher had, but now it seems like it’s how hard you throw. Of course the idea is for a pitcher to do both; throw hard and get people out, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of pitchers who have put the two together.

Well there’s my soap box about pitching. Feel free to let me know what you think in the comment section. Don’t forget that you can listen to the Sports Time Radio podcast live on BlogTalkRadio.com but you can also listen to the podcast any time you want at TuneIn.com

Let’s call it Wednesday

Posted: August 2, 2017 by Sports Time Radio in baseball, sports, Sports Time Radio, Uncategorized

The non-waive trading deadline has passed and luckily both Sonny Gray and Yu Darvish where traded so I don’t have to listen to media talk about them until they pitch for their new teams this week.

Now of course teams can still make trades, but a player has to pass through waivers before he can be traded. If a player is put on waivers by their team and they’re claimed by another team I believe there are three choices the team can make with that player. They can pull him back off of waivers and keep him. They can attempt to work out a trade with the team that claimed him on waivers. Or they can simple let the team that claimed the player on waivers have him. The third option doesn’t happen to often, but if a player has a lot of money on his contract the team that claimed him on waivers and was allowed to take him would be responsible for the remained if that players contract.

With the non-waiver trade deadline past there of course are winners and losers and while it seems as though ever contender added at least a bullpen piece there was one team the Houston Astros that didn’t seem to be interested in making any deals.

The Astros did make one trade as they acquired left handed pitcher Francisco Liriano from the Toronto Blue Jays for two outfielders; Norichika Aoki and Teoscar Hernandez. The Astros have said that they plan to use Liriano out of the bullpen. Dallas Keuchel use the word “disappointing” to describe the Astros lack of movement at the trade deadline. Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow went on to say the Astros “did the math” on bigger trades and apparently they didn’t like what it added up to. Now just this week the Astros have placed three pitchers on the disabled list as Lance McCullers Jr. Tony Sipp and Michael Feliz all where placed on the 10-day disabled list.

With the lack of movement by the Astros you have to ask yourself if they’re too attached to their top prospects. Now I seriously doubt that the Texas Rangers would’ve ever given any thought at all of trading Darvish to the Astros. The Rangers have expressed interest in bringing Darvish back in the off season as a free agent. Imagine if he went on to help the Astros win a World Series and then decided he liked playing there and signed with them long term. Now the Oakland A’s had said they where looking for a young outfielder preferably a centerfielder in any deal involving Gray. Now that would’ve meant the Astros would’ve had to part with top prospect Kyle Tucker or the recently called up Derek Fischer in a deal for Gray. Now I understand that you draft these guys you develop these guys and you can get attached to them, but did the Astros just cost themselves a World Series by being to attached to their prospects?

Now last season the two teams that met in the World Series made significant additions to their bullpen at the trade deadline and they had to give up top prospects to do it. The Cleveland Indians sent four prospects Clint Frazier, Ben Heller, Justus Sheffield and J.P. Feyereisen to the New York Yankees for Andrew Miler. Miller was the best pitcher in the playoffs last season and the Indians don’t get to the World series without him. Now the Chicago Cubs also made a deal with the Yankees as they picked up Aroldis Chapman for Adam Warren and three minor league prospects Gleyber Torres, Billy McKinney and Rashad Crawford. Chapman solidified the back end of the Cubs bullpen and was used so much in the post season by Cubs manager Joe Maddon that it may be effecting him this season. It’s another case here that the Cubs probably don’t win the World Series without Chapman. I don’t think the pick up of Liriano by the Astros is on par with the moves the Indians and Cubs made?

Should the Astros have looked for a starting pitcher at the trade deadline? They have Keauchel; who is a true #1 starter and can match up with any pitcher, but who’s after him. McCullers is hurt quite a bit and is out right now with a back injury and there’s no timetable for his return. Are Mike Fiers, Charlie Morton or Joe Musgrove enough to get the Astros through the post season. Fiers and Morton have been solid with E.R.A.’s under 4.00, but how will they hold up under playoff conditions. Brad Peacock may be the second best starter the Astros have, but they seem to like him coming out of the bullpen and with all the injuries they’ve had there it may be where he’s needed the most. Now the Astros should cruise into the playoffs and end up with the best record in the American League which means they’ll meet the wild card winner in the ALDS.

You have to wonder if we’re going to be looking back at this season and asking if the Astros would’ve picked up just one more starting pitcher if their season would’ve ended differently. The Astros have been the best team in the American League for pretty much the entire season and you’d have to think that they’d be disappointed if they didn’t get into the World Series. Of course at this point you have to wonder if they’ll be able to get through the first round of the playoffs.

As you may or may not know I’m an avid FanDuel player. I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $1 or $2 on a game, but I enjoy playing. Last night I decided to pay for the most expensive pitcher for the night Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals. It all started out well for me as Scherzer worked a 1,2,3 1st inning. In the 2nd inning the Nationals put up 6 runs and part of that scoring was a 3-run home run by Scherzer. Now I don’t get fantasy points for Scherzer’s hitting stats, but a 6-run lead should’ve led to a win and another big fantasy point outing from Scherzer. Oddly as the Nationals came out for the bottom of the 2nd inning Scherzer threw one warm up pitch and took himself out of the game. As it turned out Scherzer has had a crick in his neck for a couple of days and while it didn’t affect his swing it took him off of the mound. I just had to laugh at myself as I normally don’t pay for the top pitcher on FanDuel, but I did last night. In the end I only lost $1, but like everyone else I prefer to win. I guess will see how my luck goes tonight.

How was your week

Posted: July 29, 2017 by Sports Time Radio in baseball, sports, Sports Time Radio, Uncategorized

I’m to the point where I’m tired of the speculation and I just want July 31st to get here so we know if any of the big three starting pitchers are going to get traded. It seems like Yu Darvish, Sonny Gray and Justin Verlander where going to be traded six months ago and none of them have been. Instead of going over the same old thing about the players let’s take a look at the teams they’re rumored to be going to.

Let’s start with the New York Yankees. With the injury to Michael Pineda it appears that the Yankees could use a starting pitcher, but do they? New York just moved into 1st place in the A.L. East last night behind a great start by Masahiro Tanaka. Luis Severino has given up 4 earned runs in his last 5 starts while Jordan Montgomery and C.C. Sabathia both have winning records and E.R.A.’s under 4.00. Now it does look like the Yankees could use a 5th starter, but Darvish, Gray and Verlander aren’t 5th starters. The Yankees have used the last few seasons to build up their farm system an they’ve already said that #1 prospect Gleyber Torres won’t be traded and with the way #2 prospect Clint Frazier has played since being called up you have to think the Yankees would like to keep him. It’s going to take top prospects to land any of those pitchers in a deal and I’m not sure the Yankees are willing to give up the top guys to get them.

Let’s stay in the American League and look at the Houston Astros. Dallas Keuchel just returned to the starting rotation; so that will provide a lift to the team. Houston’s rotations just look like it needs to get healthy more than it does to add another start. Besides Keuchel, Lance McCullers, Joe Musgrove and Charlie Morton have all missed starts due to injuries. When they’re healthy though the rotation has been good. All starters have an E.R.A. under 4.00 with the exception of Musgrove and fill in starter Brad Peacock has been a huge surprise as a starter. Don’t expect Darvish to be wearing an Astros uniform as even though they said they would I don’t expect the Rangers to deal with an inter-state and division rival. Imagine if Darvish helped the Astros win a World Series and then they where able to re=-sign him as a free agent. I don’t think the Rangers want to deal with that. I’m thinking the Astros add bullpen help not a starting pitcher.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a similar spot as the Astros. They appear to have the starting pitching, but it’s a matter of getting them all healthy. Of course the loss of Clayton Kershaw was huge. He’s do back in 4 to 6 weeks, bug if the Dodgers make a big move at the trade deadline it may tell us more about Kershaw’s health than it does about them just wanting to add a pitcher. Alex Wood has been a huge surprise for the Dodgers while Brandon McCarthy and Rich Hill have been quality starters. With a healthy Kershaw you have a good playoff rotation as Kenta Maeda and Hyun-Jin Ryu would be the long men in a playoff bullpen or could be left off of the playoff roster. The funny thing about the Dodgers is for three seasons now we’ve been hearing they should deal their prospects for whatever help they needed, but they held on to them. Those players that people wanted the Dodgers to deal. Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger. Where would the Dodgers be without those three players in their everyday line up? Sometimes it’s better to hold onto a guy.

The Milwaukee Brewers have been a surprise team all season, but have struggled since the All-Star break and really need to figure out if they’re going to be in the market for a starting pitcher. You can quickly throw Darvish and Verlander off the list of pitchers the Brewers would be interested in. Since Milwaukee is young and still re-building they wouldn’t want to rent a pitcher like Darvish and the contract attached to Verlander isn’t something the Brewers would be interesting in carrying. Gray makes the most sense for the Brewers even of they don’t make the playoffs this season. He’s a young top of the rotation starting pitcher with controllable years before he hits free agency. With Chase Anderson and Matt Garza on the DL Milwaukee could use another guy in the rotation, but are they willing to pay the price for Gray. The Oakland A’s have said they want a young centerfielder in any deal for Gray which means the Brewers would have to be willing to part with either Lewis Brinson of Corey Ray who are their top two rated prospects. It’s a high price to pay for a pitcher who’s had the injury problems Gray has had throughout his career, but it looks like that’s what it’s going to take for Milwaukee to land him in a deal.

The Chicago Cubs have already made a move for a starting pitcher getting Jose Quintana from the cross town White Sox, but would they add another one? The Cubs have scouted all three of the available pitchers, but you have to think they’re out on Gray as it would take Ian Happ to bring him back in a deal and I don’t think that would happen. Adding a contract like Verlander’s is no issue for a team like the Cubs and the Cubs could take a shot at re-signing Darvish if he was brought in. The issue may be that the Cubs just don’t have the prospects to get either deal done. While the Cubs want to add a veteran catcher they won’t have to use a top prospect to do that, but both the Tigers and the Rangers are looking for quality prospects in any deal and the Cubs farm system has been dealt away. I’m not sure if a prospect laden centered around Jeimer Candelario is enough to bring either Verlander or Darvish to Chicago.

How about the teams that are in contention for a wild card spot.

The Boston Red Sox suffered a blow when David Price went on the DL with an elbow injury. This injury may make the Red Sox a little more active, but their name hasn’t really come up on any of these pitchers. Maybe they’ll jump in late now and try to add one of these pitchers.

Unless they worked out a deal for Gray the other American League wild card contenders like the Kansas City Royals, Tampa Bay Rays or Minnesota Twins aren’t going to make a deal for a Darvish or a Verlander as he doesn’t fit the teams long term plans or the way they manage their rosters.

The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies seem to control the National League wild card spots and both have added coming up to the trade deadline. Would either team be interested in adding a starting pitcher to their rotation.

The Diamondbacks had a scare last night when Robbie Ray was hit by a line drive, but luckily he’s okay and looks to be in line to make his next start. The Arizona rotation has been good as only one starter has an E.R.A. over 3.50 and Chase Field is a hitters ballpark; so that’s pretty impressive. Arizona added offense earlier and it looks like if they make another deal they want to pick up some bullpen help.

The Rockies have a very young starting rotation and could probably use a veteran guy to help mentor this rotation. Of course of they added a Darvish would he consider re-signing with Colorado. I’m sure they could handle adding Verlander’s salary, but how would he do pitching in Coors Field? It looks like a veteran starter would be a good add for the Rockies there not really known for their farm system. Do they have the young assets to acquire a rental like Darvish or a Verlander?

Now we wait and see if these three pitchers end up getting moved by July 31st or if they’re still with their teams.

Let’s call it Wednesday

Posted: July 26, 2017 by Sports Time Radio in baseball, basketball, sports, Sports Time Radio, Uncategorized

On Tuesday the Boston Red Sox called up another one of their top prospects in 3rd baseman Rafael Devers. Now Devers didn’t play on Tuesday night, but he made his major league debut on Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners. Devers didn’t get a hit in four official at bats. Devers struck out one time, walked twice and scored a run in the Red Sox 6-5 loss to the Mariners in 13 innings.

Now the thought was that the Red Sox would be the team to go out and get Todd Frazier from the Chicago White Sox and allow Devers to play the full season at Triple-A. Instead Frazier ended going to the Red Sox rival the New York Yankees. After the release of Pablo Sandoval it appeared that the would use Frazier to hold down the 3rd base job until 2018 and then turn things over to Devers, but after the trade wasn’t completed it looked like the job would be Devers a little earlier than planned.

Now it appears that the Red Sox may be back to their original plan as they acquired 3rd baseman Eduardo Nunez from the San Francisco Giants. Nunez was a trade deadline pick up for the Giants last season and helped them get into the playoffs and now the Red Sox will look for Nunez to help get them into the playoffs this season.

The Red Sox sent two right handed pitchers to the Giants for Nunez. San Francisco will receive Shaun Anderson and Gregory Santos in the deal. Anderson is 22 tears old and was a 3rd round pick of the Red Sox in 2016. He has split this season between Class-A and High-A. Anderson has made 18 starts this season covering 97 1/3rd innings. He is 6-3 with an E.R.A. of 3.42 this season. Santos is 17 years old and was signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2016. Santos has spent two seasons playing in the Red Sox Rookie League. Santos has made 7 starts this season covering 30 innings. He is 2-0 with an E.R.A. of 0.90.

Even though Nunez is called a 3rd baseman though his career he has played multiple positions. Besides 3rd base Nunez has seen time at 2nd base, shortstop as well as left and rightfield. Nunez was hitting .308 in 76 games for the Giants this season. He had 4 home runs and 31 RBI’s, but has stolen 18 bases this season.

Nunez will be a free agent after this season; so he’ll probably be a rent a type player for the Red Sox as the plan still appears to be to turn the 3rd base job over to Devers starting in 2018.

To get Nunez on their 40 man roster the Red Sox designated left handed pitcher Luis Ysla for assignment. The Red Sox also swapped a couple of guys on the disabled list. Right handed pitcher Ben Taylor goes on the 10 day disabled list while another right hander Blaine Boyer comes off the disabled list.

The Milwaukee Brewers added an arm to their bullpen yesterday as they picked up Anthony Swarzak from the Chicago White Sox for minor leaguer Ryan Cordell.

Swarzak is in his 8th major league season and has put up good numbers out of the White Sox bullpen. Swarzak actually just picked up the first save of his career on Tuesday before being traded. Swarzak has pitched in 41 games this season. He is 4-3 with an E.R.A. of 2.23. Swarzak looks to be the main set up guy for the Brewers closer Corey Knebel, but if needed he can work more than one inning. It had been reported that the Brewers where looking to add arms; so are they done? or will they find another pitcher to deal for?

Cordell is a 25 year old outfielder who has also played some 3rd base. He’s spent this season in Triple-A where he’s hitting .284 with 10 home runs and 45 RBI’s in 68 games. Cordell was an 11th round pick of the Texas Rangers in 2013 and was the Brewers 17th ranked prospect.

Injuries are always a factor in a pennant race and a couple of contenders maybe be without one of their top of the rotation starters for a period of time due to injury. It does appear as both will be back and ready for the playoffs though.

The Los Angels Dodgers will have to play on without what many consider the best starting pitcher in baseball as Clayton Kershaw will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a back injury. In 2016 Kershaw missed a little over two months with a herniated disc in his back, but the Dodgers are saying that this injury doesn’t appear to be related to that. Given Kershaw’s past history with back problems; one can’t fault the team for being as careful as possible. With a 10 1/2 game lead in the National League West the Dodgers should be able to afford to give Kershaw the time off he needs to get right foe a playoff run.

Steven Strasburg of the Washington Nationals exited his last start after just 2 innings when he had some pain in his right arm. Strasburg was diagnosed with a nerve impingement. Oddly there was no MRI done on Strasburg’s arm, but the Nationals have said that the nerve impingement has been “alleviated”. Strasburg mentioned that he had some of the same issues in his start before, but pitched through it. That would’ve been July 17th when he pitched 7 innings while giving up 1 run and 4 hits while striking out 11 and walking 1.

Strasburg threw off flat ground on Tuesday and it looks like he’s going to make his next start on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. Will have to wait and see if there’s a pitch count for Strasburg or if everything is fine and Strasburg can just pitch.

With all of the Kyrie Irving drama surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers you have to wonder if the signing of Derrick Rose will turn out to be a need.

Rose the former M.V.P. agreed to join the Cavaliers on a one year $2.1 million dollar deal after one season with the New York Knicks.

Rose had a solid season with the Knicks, but did play in just 64 games due to injuries. Rose averaged 18 points a game and handed out 4.4 assists per game. In this new style NBA Rose is definitely the slash and pass type of guy as he shot 21.7% from behind the 3-point line last season.

Rose is no longer the same player who won that M.V.P. award and the Cavaliers would be better if they had both Rose and Irving on their roster, but if Irving gets his wish and is traded by Cleveland Rose could be a solid fill in guy with experience.

How was your week

Posted: July 22, 2017 by Sports Time Radio in baseball, sports, Sports Time Radio, Uncategorized

Before I get into my ramblings on sports I’d like to take a minute to explain to you why I missed my first blog post since I started writing these for SportsTimeRadio.com.

On Tuesday morning  had a doctors appointment. It was just a check up so the doctor could renew my prescriptions. During the examination I mentioned to the doctor that I had some very minor chest pain. When I say minor it was almost very noticeable, but it was persistent. The doctor thought it was worth checking out; so he had an EKG done. The EKG results showed that I was having a heart attack; so the ambulance was called and off to the hospital I went. They didn’t want me driving to the hospital for fear of what could happen. Now the paramedics also did an EKG and they didn’t think I was having a heart attack, but better safe than sorry. After some more tests I was admitted into the hospital as they wanted to run some more tests on Wednesday. At first they where going to do a stress test, but that was changed to them doing an Angiogram. Luckily for me they did the Angiogram and my heart came up clean. The test showed no damage to my heart. So all I need is some rest, but I have a clean bill of health and hopefully no more interruptions for the blog. Now let’s get back to sports.

If your a fan of the Chicago White Sox; how do you feel about what they’re doing? The first move the White Sox made was sending Jose Quintana to the Chicago Cubs for four minor league prospects. Now earlier this week the White Sox sent 3rd baseman Todd Frazier, close David Robertson and set up guy Tommy Kahnle to the New York Yankees for three minor league prospects and a relief pitcher. The White received left handed pitcher Ian Clakin and outfielders Blake Rutherford and Tito Polo from the Yankees farm system along with Tyler Clippard.

This trade gives the White Sox either eight or nine Top 100 prospects depending on who’s ranking you go off of. After the trade with the Yankees the White Sox called up their #1 prospect Yoan Moncada. Now obviously not all of these prospects will turn into top of the line major league players, but even if just half of them work out the White Sox would have four or five big time players either in their line up or on their pitching staff.

Are the White Sox done dealing? They still have veteran outfielder Melky Cabrera on their roster and he could be a good add for a contender as a fourth outfielder and pinch hitter. The White Sox also have some veteran pitchers that I’m sure they would move if other teams where interested. Could the White Sox add one or more Top 100 prospects before this season is over?

Last night the Arizona Diamondbacks did something I had never seen before. In the bottom of the 1st inning Arizona hit back to back to back home runs to start off the inning. David Peralta hit the first one followed by A.J. Pollock and then Jake Lamb. It was the first time since May 10th of 2012 when the Baltimore Orioles did it in a game against the Texas Rangers. This was the first time in Diamondbacks history that this feat has been accomplished and what makes it even more impressive is that they hit these three home runs off of Max Scherzer.

The Diamondbacks have hit three home runs in a row before and actually hit four home runs in a row against the Milwaukee Brewers on August 10th of 2010.

While this had never happened in Diamondbacks history in was also the first time in Washington Nationals history that an opposing team started the 1st inning off with back to back to back home runs. It’s also no surprise that this is the first time that this has happened to Scherzer, but believe it or not the three home runs in the 1st inning aren’t the most Scherzer has allowed in that inning. On July 2nd of 2011 the San Francisco Giants hit five 1st inning home runs off of Scherzer.

Arizona added a 4th run in the 1st inning as all nine Diamondbacks in the starting line up got a turn at bat. Arizona scored their 5th run in the 2nd inning off of Scherzer as Lamb drove in another run with a double.

With a 5-0 lead against one of the best pitchers in baseball it looked like the Diamondbacks would cruise to an easy win, but it didn’t quite go that way. Washington used a run in the 4th, two in the 5th, one in the 6th and then finally a run in the 8th to make it a 5-5 game and get Scherzer off the hook for the loss.

Now the Nationals bullpen has had it’s much publicized issues this season, but after Scherzer exited the game after just five innings Washington’s bullpen had given up just two hits an a walk while striking out six over three innings headed into the bottom of the 9th.

Enny Romero came into the game for the Nationals to pitch the 9th inning. Romero was greeted by a triple off the bat of Pollock to start the inning. Lamb and then Paul Goldschmidt where intentional walked to load the bases. Gregor Blanco flied out to leftfield, but it wasn’t deep enough to score Pollock. Brandon Drury was the next hitter for the Diamondbacks. Drury was hit less in three at bats with a walk as he stepped into the batters box. Romero’s first two pitches to Drury where balls. Drury fouled off the third pitch to make it a 2-1 count. Drury hit the fourth pitch of the a bat into rightfield for a game winning single as Pollock scored the winning run in a 6-5 Diamondbacks victory.

Diamondbacks close Fernando Rodney (4-3) pitched a scoreless top of the 9th to pick up the win. Romero (2-4) took the loss for Washington. It was Arizona’s second win on a row while the Nationals dropped their second game in a row.

The teams will play again Saturday night. Tanner Roark (7-6) makes the start for Washington while Anthony Banda will make his major league debut for Arizona.

Major League Baseball returned to action Friday after the All-Star break with every team having a game. The New York Mets (14) and the Houston Astros (10) scored double digit runs in their returns to the diamond while the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians failed to score in there first game back. Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals and Yasiel Puig of the Los Angeles Dodgers each hit two home runs in their games to help there team to victory. The Boston Red Sox picked up a win against the New York Yankees on a walk off walk in the bottom of the 9th inning. The Chicago Cubs needed a solo home run from Addison Russell to pull out a 9-8 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. The Cubs had an 8-0 lead in the game after 3 innings, but the Orioles battle back into the game and Russell had to some through to give the Cubs a win. Then Finally the best player in the game return to action on Friday night as Mike Trout came off the disabled list for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Trout was 1 for 5 in his return to the line up as the Angels dropped a 2-1 decision in a game that went 10 innings. Trout had a chance to keep the game going with 2 outs and no one on in the bottom of the 10th inning, but Tampa Bay Rays closer Alex Colome struck Trout out to end the game.

During the All-Star break we had our first major trade of the season as the Chicago White Sox sent pitcher Jose Quintana to the Chicago Cubs for four minor leaguers. The White Sox received top prospects Eloy Jimenez an outfielder, Dylan Cease a starting pitcher, Matt Rose a 1st baseman and Bryant Flete a 2nd baseman. Jimenez and Cease are ranked in the Top 100 prospects according to just about every ranking.

Quintana will make his first start for the Cubs on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles. Quintana has made 18 starts this season covering 104 1/3rd innings. He is 4-8 with an E.R.A. of 4.49. Quintana was looked at as the best available starting pitcher on the trading block as he’s started 30 plus games and has pitched 200 or more innings the last 4 seasons. If his E.R.A. is closer to his career number of 3.51 Quintana should be the top of the rotation pitcher the Cubs need.

Jimenez, Rose and Flete where all playing in High Class-A at the time of the trade while Cease was pitching for the South Bend Cubs in Class-A.

Jimenez was hitting .272 in 44 games with 8 home runs and 34 RBI’s. Rose was hitting .224 in 67 games with 14 home runs and 40 RBI’s while Flete was hitting .307 in 72 games with 6 home runs and 38 RBI’s. Cease had made 13 starts covering 51 2/3rd innings. He had a 1-2 record with an E.R.A. of 2.79.

While it’s tough to judge any trade it does appear that in this situation both teams got what they where looking for and in the Cubs case what they needed. The Cubs needed to find some kind of help for their starting rotation and Quintana should fit nicely into that role. The White Sox are rebuilding and they where looking for quality prospects. They picked up a couple of highly rated prospects in this deal and a couple of guys that you just don’t know how they’ll develop.

There where a lot of teams interested in Quintana and one of them was reportedly the Milwaukee Brewers who the Cubs are trying to catch in the National League Central. The Minnesota Twins where also a team who’s name came up quite a bit in Quintana trade talks. Now the Brewers and the Twins along with all of the other teams looking for starting pitcher will have to find another target, but who will that be?

With Quintana off the board it appears that Sonny Gray of the Oakland A’s is the top starting pitcher that could be traded. Gray helped his cause out last night as he pitched 6 scoreless innings for Oakland last night against the Cleveland Indians. Oakland won the game 5-0 with Gray picking up the win to make his record 5-4 this season. It was Gray’s 14th start of the season covering 84 2/3rd innings. Gray has struck out 79 batters while walking just 26 this season and his E.R.A. is 3.72.

Gray is 27 years old and is in his 5th major league season, but he’s had some injury issues through his career. Gray made just 22 starts last season due to injuries. Any team interested in making a deal for Gray will have to take that into consideration. If Gray is traded I’m sure the A’s will be looking for a deal similar to what the White Sox got for Quintana.

Will Gray be the next top starting pitcher to be traded or will we someone else get dealt before him?

The New York Knicks found their replacement for Phil Jackson as they signed Scott Perry to a 5 year deal to be the teams General Manager. Perry was formerly the Sacramento Kings vice president of basketball operations; Perry will report to Steve Mills. The Knicks are planning to sign Mills to a new multiyear deal as president; promoting him from General Manager. As part of signing Perry the Knicks will send the Kings a future 2nd round draft pick and cash considerations.

One of if not Perry’s first job with the Knicks will be to figure out what to do with Carmelo Anthony. Anthony had said that he would waive the no-trade clause in his contract if he was traded to the Houston Rockets or the Cleveland Cavaliers. Reports earlier this week where that the Knicks and the Rockets where close to a four team deal that would have Anthony end up in Houston, but the deal hasn’t happened. There was also a report that the Knicks have asked Anthony to expand the number of teams that he would be willing to be traded to, but the latest report is saying the Knicks just might bring Anthony back and reincorporating him into the organization. This is clearly the biggest hurdle Perry will have to jump as a new GM and with the Eastern Conference looking to be weaker than last season could a Carmelo Anthony led Knicks team sneak into a playoff spot?

With Major League Baseball on their All-Star break, NFL training camps not open yet and the NHL and NBA seasons coming to an end last month I’ve heard this described as the worst week in professional sports. If you’re a fan of the big four sports there hasn’t been a whole lot for you to tune in for. On Monday you have the home run derby to watch and then last you had the actual MLB All-Star game to watch, but you’ll have to come up with something for yourself tonight.

I think the only sporting event that you could watch right now is Wimbledon, but those matches are played in the morning; so you’d have to watch them at night on tape delay. If you are able to watch right now #1 seed Andy Murray is on the court, Murray is facing #24 seeded Sam Querrey. Currently each player has won a set and Murray is up in the third set four games to two.

Last night for the 5th season in a row the American League beat the National League 2-1 in the All-Star game. The game showed fans that as I’m sure you’ve heard before; good pitching beats good hitting. We got an extra inning out of the game as it went 10; so combined over those 20 innings there where 23 strikeouts. The National League pitchers struck out 14 batters while American League pitchers struck out 9. Carlos Martinez of the St. Louis Cardinals struck out 4 batters and was the only National League pitcher to throw two innings. Kenley Jansen of the Los Angels Dodgers pitched one inning and all three outs he recorded where strikeouts. On the American League side Chris Sale and Craig Kimbrel of the Boston Red Sox and Dellin Betances of the New York Yankees each struck out 2 batters. Sale was the only American League pitcher to throw more than one inning.

The American League got on the board first in the top of the 5th inning. With two outs on the innings Jonathan Schoop of the Baltimore Orioles doubled. Miguel Sano of the Minnesota Twins followed that with a single to drive Schoop in to give the American League a 1-0 lead.

The National League tied the game up in the bottom of the 6th inning. After a ground out to start the inning Yader Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals hit a solo home run to right centerfield to make it a 1-1 game.

With the game still tied at 1-1 after the 9th inning was completed I’m sure fans where wondering if we where going to see another tie in the All-Star game. Luckily they didn’t go that route and they played a 10th inning.

In the top of that 10th inning Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners led it off with a solo home run to rightfield to give the American League a 2-1 lead.

In the bottom of the 10th inning the first two National League batters made outs before Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds drew a walk, but with the game tying run on and the winning run in the batters box it was fittingly a strikeout to end the game.

Cano was named M.V.P. of the game for hitting the game winning home run.

Kimbrel picked up the win in the game and Andrew Miller of the Cleveland Indians got the save. Wade Davis of the Chicago Cubs took the loss as he gave up the home run to Cano.

With the All-Star game in the books there are a couple of days with no games before the regular season get s going again on Friday.

It had been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers where interested in adding a point guard to their roster and there where quite a few rumors out there. In the end the Lakers gave Kentavious Caldwell-Pope a 1 year $18 million dollar deal to join them. Caldwell-Pope is 24 years old and is expected to have a significant role in the Lakers back court. It appears that Caldwell-Pope will be the mentor for #2 overall pick Lonzo Ball.

Caldwell-Pope had a one year $4.9 million dollar qualifying offer that he could’ve taken with the Detroit Pistons, but the Pistons decided to renounce his rights last week.

This deal makes Caldwell-Pope one of the Top 10 highest paid shooting guards and also allows him to go back into free agency after next season.

The Lakers made it a priority to land a player like Caldwell-Pope and still have the salary cap flexibility for next season. There is a chance that the Lakers aren’t done signing players. They met with point guard Rajon Rondo yesterday and they may add him to their back court as well.

Besides the Lakers signing of Caldwell-Pope there where a couple of other players who signed free agent deals. DeWayne Dedmon is leaving the San Antonio Spurs as he signed a two year $14 million dollar deal with the Atlanta Hawks. The New York Knicks also made a singing as they agreed on a two year $8.9 million dollar deal with guard Ron Baker. Baker played in 52 games for the Knicks last season.

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) made it official when they announced that Erik Jones will take over the #20 car from Matt Kenseth for the 2018 season. Jones is currently driving the #77 car as a satellite driver for Furniture Row Racing. Jones is currently 14th in the NASCAR Cup standings as a rookie. Jones has one Top 5 and five Top 10s in his 18 starts and sits 52 points out of the current playoff cutoff.

Having eight wins (including two this year) in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the 21-year-old Jones is considered one of the sport’s potential stars. He also has seven wins in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, where he has seven career wins.

Jones’ departure from Furniture Row Racing leaves that organization considering returning to a one-car operation. It expanded to two cars for 2017 with Jones and sponsor 5-Hr Energy. Furniture Row Racing has two charters — it purchased a charter from Premium Motorsports prior to the 2017 season — so it would have to sell or lease the No. 77 team charter if it doesn’t field a car in 2018 or else NASCAR could then revoke it and sell it.

How was your week

On Friday night the 1st place Milwaukee Brewers started a three game series in the Bronx, New York against the New York Yankees. Now before last nights game there was a lot of talk about how this series was a big test for Milwaukee and that this would be their opportunity to prove that they’re a contender. Interestingly it was the Yankees that had lost their last two games and four of their last five games coming into this series, but the Brewers are the team being tested here. I get it though it feeds into that east coast bias and the Yankees have had a good season up to this point; so let’s play along.

If this is truly a test for the Brewers they passed there first one as they won Game one of the series 9-4. The Yankees grabbed a 1-0 lead in the Bottom of the 2nd, Didi Gregorius singled to rightfield and when Domingo Santana had trouble handle the baseball Gregorious went al the way to 3rd base. Clint Frazier brought Gregorius home with a sacrifice fly to rightfield. In the top of the 4th the Brewers took the lead. Ryan Braun led the inning off with a double. Braun advanced the 3rd base on a ground out and then Jesus Aguilar brought them both home as he homered to rightfield to give Milwaukee a 2-1 lead. The Yankees took the lead right back in the bottom of the 4th inning. Gregorious reached 1st base safely on a Jonathan Villar error and after a strikeout Ji-man Choi gave the Yankees the lead back at 3=2 when he hit a home run into the rightfield bleachers. The Yankees added a run to their lead in the bottom of the 5th inning when Aaron Judge lead the inning off with a solo home run to centerfield to make it a 4-2 lead. The home run was Judge’s 30th of the season which breaks the home run record for the Yankees which was held by Joe DiMaggio. Milwaukee got the game even at 4 all in the top of the 6th. Braun led the inning off with a walk; Travis Shaw followed that with a double to put Brewers on 2nd and 3rd. After a pitching change a wild pitch saw Braun score and moved Shaw up to 3rd. Aguilar then hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield to score Shaw and make it a 4-4 game. The Brewers then out the game away in the top of the 7th. Orlando Arcia flew out to lead off the inning, but Santana and Villar drew back to back walks. Ryan then flew out to centerfield, but it was deep enough for both runners to advance. Shaw was intentionally walked to load the bases for Aguilar who hit a grand slam to centerfield to make it a 5-4 Brewers lead. After the Yankees made a pitching change Hernan Perez doubled and Manny Pina drove him home with a single to get the game to it’s final score of 9-4.

Junior Guerra (Milwaukee) and Jordan Montgomery (New York) where the starting pitchers in this game, but neither of them factored into the decision. Guerra pitched 3 1/3rd innings. He gave up 3 runs on 2 hits, but only 1 of them was earned while walking 3 and striking out 3. Montgomery pitched 4 1/3rd innings. He gave up 2 runs; both earned on 7 hits while striking out 4.

Josh Hader (1-0) picked up the win for Milwaukee pitching 3 innings in relief. Hader gave up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 7 and walking 1. Hader was followed by Jared Hughes who pitched a clean 2/3rds of an inning. Oliver Drake then came in for an inning. He gave up 1 hit and struck out a batter. Jacob Barnes pitched the final inning for the Brewers and he walked 1 and struck out 1.

The Yankees bullpen wasn’t as good. Tyler Webb was the first reliever out of that Yankees bullpen. He pitched 2/3rds of an inning giving up 2 runs on 1 hit and walking a batter. Tyler Clippard pitched 1 2/3rds innings giving up 4 runs on just 1 hit while walking 3 and striking out 1. Clippard (1-5) took the loss and also threw the wild pitch that helped the Brewers get back into the game. Chasen Shreve pitched 1/3rd of an inning giving up 1 run on 2 hits while walking a batter. Luis Cessa pitched the final 2 inning in relief for New York and turned out to be the only reliever that didn’t allow a run. Cessa pitched 2 innings and gave up 3 hits, but no runs.

Game 2 is scheduled for a 12:05 p.m. (cst) start. Brent Suter will start for the Brewers and Luis Severino is the Yankees starter.

Suter (1-1) will be making his second start of the season. In his first start in July 3rd he held the Baltimore Orioles to 4 huts and 1 unearned run over 6 innings. Suter also had 8 strikeouts to go with just 1 walk as he threw 97 pitches.

Severino (5-4) has been a solid starter for the Yankees, but has taken losses in his last two starts and he’s coming off what was probably his worst start of the season. On July 2nd Severino faced the Houston Astros. He lasted 5 1/3rd inning giving up 6 runs on 9 hits, He did strikeout 7 Astros while walking just 1 in a 87 pitch outing.

How do you think Milwaukee will do in their second test?

In what is clearly going to be the overhyped sports story of the day Lonzo Ball the #2 pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the recent draft struggled in his first summer league game. Ball is always going to be a story because of his father Lavar’s antics and he just didn’t get off to a good start.

Ball started and played 32 minutes as his Lakers summer league team dropped an overtime opener 96-93 to the Los Angeles Clippers. Ball shot 2 for 15 from the field which included him going 1 of 11 from behind the 3-point line. He grabbed 4 rebounds handed out 5 assists added 2 steals and blocked a shot in the game, but the focus will be his poor shooting and the fact that he only scored 5 points.

Now it’s way, way too early to make an judgements on Ball’s game, but it’s not going to stop people from doing it and I’m sure there are people out there who want to see him fail because of the way his father acts. I’m no fan of Lavar; I think he’s a complete idiot, but in no way does that affect my opinion on Lonzo. It was just one game on a long line of games for him this summer league and coming NBA season. There’s going to be good ones and bad ones and this just happened to be a bad one. Who knows maybe he’ll go out and score 40 points in the next summer league game.

Let’s call it Wednesday

Posted: July 5, 2017 by Sports Time Radio in baseball, basketball, sports, Sports Time Radio, Uncategorized

NBA free agency is rolling along with what seems to be signing after signing. It was no shock at all when Kevin Durant resigned with the Golden State Warriors, but what was interesting was that he took less money so Golden State could also resign Andre Iguodala. Durant signed a two year deal worth $53 million dollars. At the start of free agency it looked like Iguodala would be finding a new team as he didn’t even have a meeting scheduled with the Warriors. First Golden State got Stephen Curry signed to the largest deal in NBA history five years at $201 million dollars. Then they got the Durant deal done. Then they had enough money left to bring Iguodala on a three year $48 million dollar deal.

The Utah Jazz saw a couple of their now former players sign contracts with new teams yesterday. George Hill who drew a lot of interest on the free agent market signed with the Sacramento Kings. Hill got a three year deal worth $57 million dollars. Scaramento also added Zach Randolph formerly of the Memphis Grizzlies.Randolph joins the Kings on a two year $24 million dollar deal. Gordon Hayward also found a new home. Hayward had also drawn a lot of interest from teams, but in the end he signed a four year $128 million dollar deal with the Boston Celtics. While the Celtics where able to land a big free agent in Hayward they did lose a player as well. Amir Johnson will be leaving the Celtics as he signed a one year $11 million dollar deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Paul Milsap signed a three year $90 million dollar deal with the Denver Nuggets and it looked like it was going to end up being part of a sign and trade, but it doesn’t appear that Milsap was included in the deal and he just signed with Denver. Here how the trade played out. The Los Angeles Clippers sent Jamal Crawford, Diamond Stone and a 2018 1st round pick that they got from the Houston Rockets along with cash to the Atlanta Hawks. The Clippers received Danilo Gallinari from the Nuggets and signed him to a three year $65 million dollar deal. The Hawks then sent a 2019 2nd round pick that they acquired from the Washington Wizards to the Nuggets to complete the trade.

Gallinari will join the Clippers front court that features All-Stars Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, but will have to find a way to replace point guard Chris Paul. Gallinari will help fill the 3-point shooting void left by Crawford and J.J. Reddick. Reddick joined the 76ers as a free agent on a one year $23 million dollar deal. Interestingly Crawford is looking for either a buy out or to be waived by Atlanta and is interested in rejoining the Clippers.

So who’s the biggest name left on the free agent market? Looking at the list of players available it just might be Derrick Rose. Rose is a former league M.V.P. who just can’t seem to shake the injury bug. There where rumors that Rose’s former head coach Tom Thibodeau was interesting in adding Rose to the Minnesota Timberwolves roster, but nothing has happened yet. Rose played in 64 games for the New York Knicks. He averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists per game last season. Rose missed the end of the season with an injury, but reports are that he’ll be ready to go for training camp.

Now what I’m interested in is if someone will take a chance on 40 year old Vince Carter and give him a 20th NBA season. Carter has spent the last three seasons with Memphis. Carter played in 73 games while putting up per game averages of 8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists playing an average of 24.6 minutes a game. Carter is an 8-time All-Star and was Rookie of the Year way back in the 1998-99 season. Maybe it’s just me, but I hope that a team finds a spot for Carter on their bench and give him that 20th season.

I’m looking for some help here because this just kind of confused me. With the full schedule of baseball games yesterday I do my best to keep up with all of them, but sometimes I’ll get a little behind or just miss something. When I miss out on a game I like to try and catch the highlights while I’m channel surfing. Now ESPN isn’t my first choice for highlights of any kind, but they happen to be talking about the game I didn’t see yesterday and I wanted to catch up.

The game I just missed out on yesterday was the New York Yankees hosting the Toronto Blue Jays. Now I hadn’t heard a final score to this game or which players had done what. The highlights came on and as there turned out to be just one highlight from the game that ESPN bothered to show. I’m sure you know what the highlight was. It was Aaron Judge’s long home run. Now oddly when the host introduced the highlight they mentioned that the story of the game was Aaron Judge. They showed the home run and then cut to the final score. Now after listening to them introduce the highlight and talk only about Judge I thought he had hit multiple home runs or had driven in a ton of runs. As it turned out the Blue Jays actually won the game 4-1, but you wouldn’t of known that by listening to the host. Judge was 1 for four with that long home run, but struck out in his other three at bats. Now I get the whole East coast bias with ESPN and Judge is having an M.V.P. caliber type of season; so far, but I keep going back to the fact that Toronto won the damn game.

Maybe they could’ve shown Kendrys Morales driving in two runs to make it a 4-0 game and putting it away for Toronto. Maybe they could’ve shown one of the six strikeouts J.A. Happ recorded on his way to getting the win. Hell they could’ve shown Happ striking out Judge. Maybe they could’ve shown Roberto Osuna striking out two of the three batters he faced in the 9th inning on the way to his 20th save.

Again this is a situation where it might just be me, but maybe someone can explain it too me. Feel free to leave your comment for me. Thanks!
