With rumors circulating that head coach Fred Hoiberg is on the hot the seat the Chicago Bulls 2 game win streak came to and end as they drop a 111-101 afternoon tilt to the Indiana Pacers. This was the Bulls 6th loss in a row by double digits.

The Pacers scored the first 7 points of the game and as it turned out they would never trail the in game. The Pacers built there biggest lead of the quarter and the game when they took a 22-8 lead after a Myles turner dunk. The Bulls spent the rest of the quarter cutting into that 14 point lead and by the end of the 1st quarter they had knocked it down to 6 points at 28-22.

Indiana was able to build the lead back to double digits (10 points) early in the 2nd quarter at 37-27 after former Bull Aaron Brooks hit a 3-pointer. The Bulls where able to cut the Pacers lead down to 4 points on two different occasions. The last time was at 48-44 with 4:31 left in the quarter. The Pacers then went on a 14 to 6 run to end the quarter. At the half Indiana had a 12 point lead at 62-50.

Indiana was able to add a couple of points to there lead 71-59 after Jeff Teague hit a free throw. The closest the Bulls could get in the quarter was 8 points and while they did outscored the Pacers in the quarter they where only able to knock 1 point off the Indiana lead. The final 2:21 of the quarter saw the teams combine to miss 7 shots and the Bulls missed 3 of 4 from the free throw line. Indiana took a 84-73 lead into the final quarter.

The Bulls went on a 12 to 6 run to start the quarter and had the lead down to 5 at 90-85. Aaron Brooks hit a 3-pointer to make the lead 8 points and then the Bulls scored the next 5 points and the lead was down to 3 points at 93-90. After Michael Carter-Williams completed an old school 3-point play the Bulls had the game even at 95 all. The Pacers where able to get the lead back to 6 points, but a Dwayne Wade jumper made it 105-101 with 1:43 left to play. Sadly the officials had a hand in how the end of the game played out as they made a terrible clear path foul call that game Indiana 2 free throws and the ball back. Thaddeus Young made the 2 free throws and with those free throws Indiana scored the final 6 points of the game to take a 111-101 win.

Paul George led the at for the Pacers and was the games high scorer with 32 points. Thaddeus Young had 17 points while Myles Turner added 15 points. Glen Robinson III had 12 points and a team high 10 rebounds. Jeff Teague was the only Indiana starter to not score in double figures. Teague had 7 points, but handed out a game high 17 assists.

Jimmy Butler was the Bulls leading scorer with 25 points. Dwayne Wade added 20 points while Taj Gibson went for 10 points. Michael Carter-Williams (12 points), Cristiano Felicio (12 points) and Doug McDermott (10 points) all came off the Bulls bench to score in double figures. Felicio also grabbed a game high 12 rebounds.

The win improves the Pacers to 16-18 on the season. Indiana gets a day off as they host the 15-19 Orlando Magic on New Year’s Day. The loss puts the Bulls back under .500 at 16-17. Chicago returns home for a match up against the 15-15 Milwaukee Bucks tomorrow night.

The Chicago Bulls need a Jimmy Butler jumper as time expired to escape with a victory over the eight win Brooklyn Nets 101-99 Wednesday night. While it was the 2nd win in a row for the Bulls and the victory gets them back to .500 at 16-16; this game couldn’t of helped build any confidence in a team that is hanging around the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoff standings. With the loss Brooklyn falls to 8-23 on the season and 1-15 in road games. It was quite the struggle for the Bulls to get a win on their home court against a team that appears headed to the Draft Lottery; again.

Brooklyn started off scoring the first 9 points of the game. The Bulls didn’t lead in the game until Nikola Mirotic hit a 3-pointer to give the Bulls a 21-20 lead with 2:31 left in the quarter. Jimmy Butler scored the next points in the game to give the Bulls a 3 point lead at 23-20 with 1:59 left in the quarter. Neither team was able to score in the final 1:59; so the Bulls kept there 3 point lead at 23-20.

The Nets quickly tied the game at 23 all on a Carl LeVert 3-pointer to start the 2nd quarter. The game was tied six different times in the quarter. The last being at 38 apiece. Brooklyn went on a 9 to 4 run to take a lead at 47-42. The teams went on another long dry spell after a Taj Gibson basket with 3:16 to play in the quarter. It took about three minutes for either team to score and then they traded two baskets in the final 27 seconds. The game went into halftime with Brooklyn up 49-46.

The Bulls started the 3rd quarter on a 8 to 5 run to tie the game at 54 all. The game was tied 5 different times before the Nets built a 5 point lead at 65-60. The biggest lead the Nets where able to build was 7 points and they did that two different times. Chicago came all the way back and tied the again at 76 all with 53 seconds left in the quarter, Randy Foye hit a lay up with 3 seconds left to give the Nets a 78-76 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

The Nets took a quick 6 point lead early in the 4th quarter at 82-76 , but the Bulls cut the lead to 1 point at 83-82 with 8:22 to play.  Brooklyn again worked the lead back to 6 points only to see the Bulls work their way back into the game again cutting the lead 2 with 6:16 to play. Brooklyn then built a 7 point lead with 3:01 to play at 97-90. Then the Bulls went on a 9-0 run to take the lead with 27 seconds left. Brook Lopez tied the game for the Nets at 99 all and it looked as though we might be headed to overtime. With 12 seconds left the Bulls used a timeout to get there shooters (Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic) into the game, but it was all Jimmy Butler for the Bulls as he hit a game winning jumper as the game clock expired to give the Bulls a 101-99 win.

Jimmy Butler was the Bulls and the games high scorer with 40 points. Butler was a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line. Butler also grabbed a team high 11 rebounds. Dwayne Wade had 16 points while Robin Lopez was the other Bulls player scoring in double digits with 12 points. Rajon Rondo handed out a game high 12 assists for Chicago.

Brooklyn was led by Brook Lopez who had 33 points. Sean Kilpatrick had 18 points; Randy Foye came off the Nets bench to score 11 points and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 10 points. Trevor Booker was the games high rebounder grabbing 14.

The Bulls look for there 3rd win in a row Friday night as they go on the road to face the 15-18 Indiana Pacers. The loss was the Nets 6th in there last 7 games. Brooklyn stays on the road for there next game. Friday nights game against the 15-16 Washington Wizards.

The Houston Rockets beat the Dallas Mavericks 123-107. You might’ve figured that’s how the game would go since the Rockets 24-9 while the Mavericks are 9-23, but the score of this game wasn’t the interesting part of it.

There where 8 technical fouls in the game; 5 on the Rockets and 3 on the Mavericks. The Mavericks where also called for 2 flagrant fouls. Trevor Ariza of the Rockets was one of the players who received 2 of those 8 technical fouls and was ejected from the game. After the game Ariza waited outside of the Mavericks locker room looking to confront Salah Mejri of the Mavericks. Reports are Mejri made a derogatory comment to Ariza about Ariza’s wife and children between the third and fourth quarters. Ariza became so upset that he exchanged words with Mejri, which prompted the referees to give Ariza a technical, his second of the game, leading to an ejection. Ariza was joined outside the Dallas locker room by teammates James Harden, Patrick Beverly and Eric Gordon. Dallas police officers where present outside the Dallas locker room as part of their regular detail monitored the situation to make sure it did not escalate. At one point Mavericks guard Deron Williams came out of the locker room to talk with Ariza and try to calm him down. Ariza, who didn’t speak with reporters after the game, eventually left without further incident. Mejri denied to reporters that he said anything to Ariza about his family. Beverly who didn’t play in the game because of a bruised quad had a one sided run in the with Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle. After Carlisle had wrapped up his post game press conference he passed Beverly who was sitting on a cart. Beverly began screaming comments to Carlisle. There was no respond from Carlisle; who just kept walking. Will have to wait and see how the NBA reacts to this incident. Will there be fines or suspensions involved with this situation.

Luckily for the Los Angeles Clippers and DeAndre Jordan fantasy owners that Jordan was okay after being involved in a car accident on Tuesday in Playa del Rey, California, while on his way to the airport in advance of the team’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Jordan flew with the team to New Orleans ahead of Wednesday night’s game. Chris Paul was seen at the accident site, but the Clippers said he was not involved. Rather, Paul was close by when the accident occurred and arrived with team staff to give Jordan a ride to the airport.

Week 16 was a tough week for a couple of young franchise quarterbacks. Both Derek Carr of the Oakland Raiders and Marcus Mariota of the Tennessee Titans both suffered broken legs in their teams games. No surprise that both are done for the season.

The Raiders are 12-3 and are headed to the playoffs without Carr. It will be Matt McGloin who will take over under center for the Carr. McGloin is in his 4th season and has played in 13 career games. McGloin did start 6 games as a rookie in 2013. McGloin has 11 career touchdown passes as well as 11 career interceptions. With Carr under center the Raiders where a Super Bowl contender. I’m not sure you can say the same thing with McGloin at quarterback. McGloin will make his first start of the season on New Year’s day as the Raiders wrap up the regular season on the road against the Denver Broncos. It should be a good test for McGloin against Denver’s defense.

Tennessee not only saw the starting quarterback go down. They also saw there playoffs chances disappear in their 38-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaquars. The Titans wrap up the regular season by hosting the AFC South leading Houston Texans. Matt Cassel will get the start at quarterback for Tennessee against Houston. Cassel is in his 12th NFL season, but his first with the Titans. Cassel has made 79 career starts. Cassel has thrown 102 career touchdowns to 79 career interceptions. A win against the Texans on Sunday and the Titans will finish over .500 for the first time since 2011.

Now I didn’t forget about the Sports Time Radio pick contest. Schaumburg Stu and I tied for the top spot for Week 16 by going 10-6. Mr. Fantasy took the 2nd spot with an 8-8 record while Dan the Man had a rough week going 6-10. For the season Schaumburg Stu looks to be headed to a victory as he is 158-82 overall. Mr. Fantasy has moved into 2nd place with a overall record of 148-92. Dan the Man has fallen into 3rd place, but he’s just a game behind Mr. Fantasy at 147-93. Sadly it looks as though I’ll be in the cellar this season as I am 142-98 overall. It looks like the battle here is for 2nd place and whoever has the best record in Week 17 should take it.

We have another head coaching vacancy in the NFL as the Buffalo Bills have fired Rex Ryan. Ryan was in his 2nd season as Bills head coach. In 2015 the Bills went 8-8 under Ryan. This season the Bills are currently 7-8 headed into the final week of the season. Ryan’s coaching career started off hot as he took the New York Jets to back to back AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010. Ryan hasn’t had a winning season since that 2010 season, but he has been .500 on three occasions. For his career Ryan is 61-66 overall, but does have a 4-2 playoff record. The Bills also relieved assistant head coach Rob Ryan of his duties. Offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn will serve as interim coach for the Bills’ finale on Sunday against the New York Jets. The Bills have also announced that E.J. Manuel will start at quarterback instead of Tyrod Taylor who started the previous 15 games this season. You have to wonder if Ryan has seen his last coaching position. He might have to take a coordinators job and try to work his way back into a head coaching position if he’s looking to be a head coach again. Would you like to see your favorite team hire Ryan if they had a coaching vacancy?

The Chicago Bulls shot just 38.6% from the field, but still found a way to break there thee losing streak with a 90 to 85 win over the Indiana Pacers. Indiana shot 42% from the field, but the bulls mad up the difference by shooting 18 more free throws in the game.

The Bulls got out to a six point lead early in the 1st quarter at 11-5. The Pacers where never able to get closer than three points in the quarter as the Bulls slowly built there lead. It looked as though the Bulls would finish the quarter with a double digit lead, but Aaron Brooks (former Bull) hit a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left to cut the leas to nine points. Chicago had a 28-19 lead after the 1st quarter.

The Bulls added to there lead at the start pf the 2nd quarter and when Jerian Grant hit a jumper with 7:33 left the Bulls had there biggest lead at 16 points; 41-25. Indiana was able to get the lead down to 10 points by the end of the quarter. The Pacers finished the 2nd quarter on a 16-10 run. The Bulls took a 51-41 lead at the half.

The Bulls where able to keep the lead at or around double digits. The biggest lead the Bulls could build was 12 points on a couple of occasions, but then there poor shooting started to show. In the last three minutes of the quarter Indiana outscored the Bulls 12-2 and cut the lead to just 2 points at 63-61 through three quarters.

The Pacers got all the way  back when they ties the game at 64 all early in the 4th quarter. After Indiana tied the game the Bulls went on a 10-0 run. The Pacers cut the lead to 2 points three different times and even got the lead won to 1 point with 45 seconds left, but the Bulls where able to hit there last two shots and pull out a 90-85 win.

Dwayne Wade was the Bulls and the games high scorer with 21 points. Nikola Mirotic came off the Bulls bench to score 20 points. Jimmy Butler had a tough night shooting going 3 of 12 from the field, but did go 9 of 12 from the free throw line and scored 16 points. Taj Gibson and Jerian Grant (off the bench) each had 10 points. Robin Lopez grabbed a game high 12 rebounds for the Bulls while Wade, Butler and Rajon Rondo each handed out 5 assists to tie for the team lead.

Aaron Brooks came off the Pacers bench to lead them in scoring with 19 points. Myles Turner had 16 points and a team high 8 rebounds. Paul George scored 14 points and handed out a game high 8 assists. Thaddeus Young scored 12 points while Al Jefferson also reached double digits coming off the Pacers bench to score 11 points.

With the win the Bulls are now 15-16. After having to play 3 games in 4 days the Bulls will get a day off before hosting the 8-22 Brooklyn Nets. The loss drops Indiana to 15-17 this season. The Pacers will also get a day off before they head to Washington to face the 14-16 Wizards.

Are you use to Christmas day being an NBA day? There are five games on the schedule and the third one featured the San Antonio Spurs getting a 119 to 100 win over the Chicago Bulls. San Antonio improves to 25-6 with the win while the Bulls fall to 14-16. This was the Bulls sixth loss in seven games and it’s also the fifth time in those six losses that they’ve been beaten by double digit points.

The Bulls where in trouble right from the start as the Spurs scored the first 8 points of the game as well as scoring 17 of the first 19 points scored in the game. San Antonio seemed to make every shot they took in the quarter as they built the lead to 20 points at 30-10. The Bulls spent the rest of the quarter trying to cut the lead down. By the end of the quarter the lead was down to 11 as the Spurs led 36-25 after one.

After being down by 20 points early in the game the Bulls used the 2nd quarter to try and get themselves back into it. They got very close after  jimmy Butler dunk with 1:34 left in the quarter capped a Bulls 24 to 16 run and cut the Spurs lead to just 3 at 52-49. The Spurs where able to add a few more points back onto there lead and they went into halftime up 55-50.

The Bulls went on another run this time of 13 to 8 and believe it or not the game was tied at 63 all. Then Jimmy Butler actually gave the Bulls their first lead of the game when he hit a 3-pointer to make it 70-67 Chicago. The lead didn’t last long as the Spurs went on a 20 to 6 run to end the quarter. San Antonio took a 87-76 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

The Bulls didn’t have another run in them in the final quarter as they could only cut the lead to seven points on two occasions. Once the Spurs got a double digit lead the Bulls could only bring it under that one time. The Spurs lead got to 20 points with just under a minute to play, but a Bills free throw made the final 119-100.

LaMarcus Aldridge was the games leading scorer with 33 points Aldridge went 15 of 20 from the field in the game. Kawhi Leonard added 25 points and grabbed a game high 10 rebounds. Tony Parker scored 13 points and had a game high 8 assists while former Bull Pau Gasol had 10 points.

Dwayne Wade led the Bulls with 24 points and handed out a team high 6 assists. Jimmy Butler had 19 points while Taj Gibson scored 12 points and grabbed a team high 7 rebounds. Nikola Mirotic came off the Bulls bench to score 11 points while Robin Lopez scored 10 points.

The was the start of a three game home stand for San Antonio. The Spurs will get a few days off before hosting the 9-21 Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. Chicago is in another one of those scheduling quirks like earlier in the season. Chicago is in the middle of a three games in four days stretch as they’ll return home for a game tomorrow against the 15-16 Indiana Pacers.

In a game that got a little chippy at the end after the outcome was pretty much determined the Charlotte Hornets handed the Chicago Bulls their 5th loss in there last 6 games. It was also the 4th time in those 5 losses that the Bulls have been beaten by double digits. With the win Charlotte improves to 17-13 on the season. The loss drops the Bulls a game under .500 at 14-15.

With 38 seconds left in the game both Taj Gibson and Robin Lopez of the Bulls where ejected. Gibson received his second technical foul for his ejection while Lopez was called for a flagrant foul; type two for his ejection.

In the 1st quarter Charlotte built a 5 point lead a couple of times. The Bulls could cut into the lead, but never take it until Taj Gibson hit a jumper with 3:35 left in the quarter to give the Bulls a 17-16 lead. After taking the lead the Bulls where able to add a couple of points to it and finish the 1st quarter with a 26-22 lead.

The Bulls scored the first 4 points of the 2nd quarter, but then the Hornets went on a 15-0 run to take a 7 point lead at 37-30. Chicago managed just 14 points in the 2nd quarter while Charlotte out up 26. The Hornets went into halftime with a 48-40 lead.

The 3rd quarter started with the Bulls scoring the first 9 points to take a 49-48 lead. That was the last lead the Bulls would have in this game. Charlotte took the lead back by running off the next 6 points. Overall the quarter played out even as both teams scored 27 points. The Hornets held there 8 point lead at the end of three quarters 75-67.

The closest the Bulls could get in the 4th quarter was 6 points as Charlotte slowly built the lead. While Charlotte was able to get the lead to double digits they weren’t able to keep it there. It took those last 38 seconds with the two ejections for the Hornets to take a double digit lead for good. The teams traded lay ups at the end and that got us to the final of 103-91.

Kemba Walker and Nicholas Batum each had 20 points to lead the Hornets in scoring. Those 20 points where just part of Batum’s triple-double as he had a game high 11 rebounds and handed out a game high 10 assists. Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky III (off the bench) each had 13 points while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 12 points.

Jimmy Butler was the Bulls and the games leading scorer with 26 points. Doug McDermott had 15 points off the bench while Dwayne Wade added 12 points. Nikola Mirotic came off the bench to score 11 points and grab a team high 10 rebounds. Taj Gibson also scored in double figures with 10 points. Rajon Rondo tied for the game high in assists with 10.

The Hornets get a couple of days off for Christmas. There next game is Monday night against the 7-22 Brooklyn Nets in Brooklyn. The Bulls are part of the NBA’s Christmas extravaganza as they play the 3rd game of 5 in San Antonio against the 24-6 Spurs.

How was your week

It looks as though the Cleveland Indians gave their fans something they wanted this Christmas season. As it’s being reported that Edwin Encarnacion has agreed to a 3 year $60  million dollar deal with Cleveland. The deal also includes a 4th option year at $25 million dollars or the Indians have a buyout option for $5 million dollars. Encarnacion hit 42 home runs and led the American League in RBI’s with 127. Encarnacion is a career .266 hitting and has 310 career home runs. With the Toronto Blue Jays last season Encarnacion played 75 games at 1st base and was the DH 86 times. Encarnacion games played should look very similar with the Indians as he’ll share time with Carlos Santana at 1st base and as the teams DH. Encarnacion will fil the spot of Mike Napoli who is still on the free agent market, but there have been reports the Texas Rangers are interested in his services.

It looks as though the Atlanta Braves have decided that outfielder Ender Inciate will be part of there rebuilding plan. The Braves sign Inciate to a 5 year extension worth $30.525 million dollars. There is also an option for a 6th year which the Braves can choose to buy out for $1.025 million dollars. Inciate is 26 years old and 2016 was his first season with the Braves after playing two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Inciate hit .291 with 24 doubles, 7 triples and 3 home runs. Inciate stole 16 bases while being caught 7 times. Inciate played 120 games in centerfield last season while also playing 10 games in leftfield. Inciate has played all three outfield positions in his career and had a .991 fielding percentage in centerfield last season. Inciate names came up quite a bit at the trade deadline last season and now that he’s signed to a very team friendly deal the question becomes. Will he be with the Braves long term? Or will other teams be even more interested in him now that he comes with some control?

Remember the beginning of the 2016 season when Jose Bautista said he wouldn’t give the Blue Jays a hometown discount and he would be looking for $25 to $30 million dollars a season in his new contract. Well after making those demands Bautista pretty much went out and stunk it up. Bautista played in 116 games due to injuries and hit just .234. His power numbers where also down as he managed just 22 home runs after hitting 40 and 35 the two seasons before. Bautista is 36 years old and you have to wonder if it was the injuries that caused the down season or are his skills in decline. The Blue Jays did offer Bautista the qualifying offer of $17.2 million dollars after last season, but he didn’t sign it. There are reports out now that Bautista may take a 1 year deal, but would like to get more than the $17.2 million dollars that the qualifying offer would’ve given him. Bautista isn’t a great defender; he has a career fielding percentage of .982 as an outfielder. You have to wonder how he might hold up with a National League team where he wouldn’t have the benefit of getting that break from fielding as a DH. Bautista is one of the bigger names left out on the free agent market; so it will be interesting to see where he signs and how much he signs for.

Are you ready for the National Football League to take over your Saturday? There are 12 games on the schedule for Saturday. There are also two games on Sunday and then the Monday night game. Of course there was the Thursday night game where the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants 24-19.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles has rejoined the team in New England for today’s game. Bowles was admitted to the hospital on Friday with an undisclosed illness and it was unknown if he would even make it to today’s game. Bowles didn’t travel with the team Friday after being hospitalized and it was being reported the team initially feared Bowles suffered a heart attack. Doctors have determined that was not the case. Bowles arrived at the team hotel Saturday morning and will travel with the team to Gillette Stadium for today’s game against the Patriots. The Jets said it was still unclear whether Bowles would coach the team from the sideline or the coaches booth. Assistant head coach Mike Caldwell ran the walk through practice Friday at the team facility and is on standby to handle head coaching duties if Bowles hadn’t been able to make it to the game.Bowles is the third NFL head coach to suffer an in-season medical emergency. Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak experienced a complex migraine condition that forced him to miss one game, and Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer missed one game to undergo emergency eye surgeries.

In that Jets/Patriots game today it looks as though wide receiver Michael Floyd will be active for the Patriots. Floyd was released by the Arizona Cardinals on December 14th; two days after he received a DUI. Floyd is facing six charges: obstructing a roadway; DUI impaired to the slightest degree; DUI blood alcohol content above 0.08, 0.15 and 0.20; and failure to obey a police officer. All charges are Class 1 misdemeanors. If convicted Floyd could face jail time. There was some controversy to the Patriots signing Floyd after the video of his DUI came out. Floyd was asleep at the wheel of his vehicle while it was still in gear and was very unresponsive to the police officers instructions in the video. This will be Floyd’s first game action with the Patriots. Floyd is a free agent after this season; so he has a couple of games to prove to teams that he can still produce on the field. He’ll also have to convince teams that his off the field troubles are behind him.

On Thursday night the Boston Bruins beat the Florida Panthers 3-1 on the ice. Now it seems like this is just a normal Thursday night NHL game with Boston getting a win, but when you look into the scoring it’s not. On the Panthers only goal of the night the assist went to Jaromir Jagr. That assist broke a tie Jagr was in for 2nd place on the NHL’s all time leading scores list. Jagr now has 1888 career points in his NHL career. Jagr trails just Wayne Gretzky on the list, but he trails by quite a bit. “The Great One” has 2857 career points and at 44 years of age I don’t think Jagr will be around long enough to catch Gretzky.

Jagr started his NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penquins where he played from 1990 to 2001. Then Jagr was with the Washington Capitals from 2001 to 2004. Jagr then went to the New York Rangers from 2004 to 2008. Jagr who was born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia decided after the 2008 season that he wanted to return home to play. Jagr signed with the Avangard Omsk of the KHL and played there from 2008 to 2011. Jagr returned to the NHL in 2011 signing a one year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers. In 2012 Jagr signed with the Dallas Stars. Jágr was traded to the Boston Bruins in exchange for two prospects and a draft pick. In 2013 Jagr signed with the New Jersey Devils. Jagr was with the Devils until February of 2015 when he was traded to the Florida Panthers for a 2nd and a 3rd round pick in the 2015 draft. Jagr is still with the Panthers.

Who knows how many more seasons Jagr will play in the NHL, but he’s a had long well traveled Hall of Fame career.

Week 15 in the NFL just wrapped up and Dan the Man came out on top of our picks with a 13-3 record. The difference was Dan the Man was the only one who had the Carolina Panthers beating the Washington Redskins on Monday night. Schaumburg Stu and Mr. Fantasy where both 12-4 for the week while I was 11-5. Overall Schaumburg Stu looks to be on his way to winning this years contest as he is 148-76through 15 weeks. Dan the Man took 2nd place back by a game over Mr. Fantasy. Dan the Man is 141-83 and Mr. Fantasy is 140-84. That of course means I am in the cellar and it looks like I’ll be staying there. I’m 130-92 overall. There are two weeks left for our picks.

With the NHL coming up on there Christmas break it’s a bit of a surprise that the Chicago Blackhawks have the most points with 48. James now has 27,442 career points. Shaquille O’Neal is 7th on the list at 28,596. James has a good chance to get past O’Neal before the season ends.

While James moving up the scoring list on the Cavaliers win was a positive the chance that they may loss J.R. Smith with a broken thumb is the negative. Smith exited the game in the 1syt half when it appeared he injured his thumb trying to strip Giannis Antetokounmpo of the basketball as he drove to the basket. The X-rays taken at the arena were inconclusive, according to the Cavaliers. Smith will travel back to Cleveland with the team and be re-evaluated Wednesday. The top series in NASCAR is getting a new name. Sprint will no longer be the top sponsor for NASCAR. Starting with the 2017 season will have the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Monster Energy will be the 5th different name for the top series. It was known as the NASCAR Winston Cup Grand National Division from 1971 to 1985, the NASCAR Winston Cup Series from 1986 to 2003, the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series from 2004 to 2007 and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from 2008 to 2016. Even with the new sponsor and the modernized NASCAR logo that moves the colors solely to the left of the wording instead of having colors behind it, includes the sanctioning body’s name after the series sponsor for the first time. NASCAR kept one thing the same; the word Cup is still in the title.
