Are you use to Christmas day being an NBA day? There are five games on the schedule and the third one featured the San Antonio Spurs getting a 119 to 100 win over the Chicago Bulls. San Antonio improves to 25-6 with the win while the Bulls fall to 14-16. This was the Bulls sixth loss in seven games and it’s also the fifth time in those six losses that they’ve been beaten by double digit points.

The Bulls where in trouble right from the start as the Spurs scored the first 8 points of the game as well as scoring 17 of the first 19 points scored in the game. San Antonio seemed to make every shot they took in the quarter as they built the lead to 20 points at 30-10. The Bulls spent the rest of the quarter trying to cut the lead down. By the end of the quarter the lead was down to 11 as the Spurs led 36-25 after one.

After being down by 20 points early in the game the Bulls used the 2nd quarter to try and get themselves back into it. They got very close after  jimmy Butler dunk with 1:34 left in the quarter capped a Bulls 24 to 16 run and cut the Spurs lead to just 3 at 52-49. The Spurs where able to add a few more points back onto there lead and they went into halftime up 55-50.

The Bulls went on another run this time of 13 to 8 and believe it or not the game was tied at 63 all. Then Jimmy Butler actually gave the Bulls their first lead of the game when he hit a 3-pointer to make it 70-67 Chicago. The lead didn’t last long as the Spurs went on a 20 to 6 run to end the quarter. San Antonio took a 87-76 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

The Bulls didn’t have another run in them in the final quarter as they could only cut the lead to seven points on two occasions. Once the Spurs got a double digit lead the Bulls could only bring it under that one time. The Spurs lead got to 20 points with just under a minute to play, but a Bills free throw made the final 119-100.

LaMarcus Aldridge was the games leading scorer with 33 points Aldridge went 15 of 20 from the field in the game. Kawhi Leonard added 25 points and grabbed a game high 10 rebounds. Tony Parker scored 13 points and had a game high 8 assists while former Bull Pau Gasol had 10 points.

Dwayne Wade led the Bulls with 24 points and handed out a team high 6 assists. Jimmy Butler had 19 points while Taj Gibson scored 12 points and grabbed a team high 7 rebounds. Nikola Mirotic came off the Bulls bench to score 11 points while Robin Lopez scored 10 points.

The was the start of a three game home stand for San Antonio. The Spurs will get a few days off before hosting the 9-21 Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. Chicago is in another one of those scheduling quirks like earlier in the season. Chicago is in the middle of a three games in four days stretch as they’ll return home for a game tomorrow against the 15-16 Indiana Pacers.

In a game that got a little chippy at the end after the outcome was pretty much determined the Charlotte Hornets handed the Chicago Bulls their 5th loss in there last 6 games. It was also the 4th time in those 5 losses that the Bulls have been beaten by double digits. With the win Charlotte improves to 17-13 on the season. The loss drops the Bulls a game under .500 at 14-15.

With 38 seconds left in the game both Taj Gibson and Robin Lopez of the Bulls where ejected. Gibson received his second technical foul for his ejection while Lopez was called for a flagrant foul; type two for his ejection.

In the 1st quarter Charlotte built a 5 point lead a couple of times. The Bulls could cut into the lead, but never take it until Taj Gibson hit a jumper with 3:35 left in the quarter to give the Bulls a 17-16 lead. After taking the lead the Bulls where able to add a couple of points to it and finish the 1st quarter with a 26-22 lead.

The Bulls scored the first 4 points of the 2nd quarter, but then the Hornets went on a 15-0 run to take a 7 point lead at 37-30. Chicago managed just 14 points in the 2nd quarter while Charlotte out up 26. The Hornets went into halftime with a 48-40 lead.

The 3rd quarter started with the Bulls scoring the first 9 points to take a 49-48 lead. That was the last lead the Bulls would have in this game. Charlotte took the lead back by running off the next 6 points. Overall the quarter played out even as both teams scored 27 points. The Hornets held there 8 point lead at the end of three quarters 75-67.

The closest the Bulls could get in the 4th quarter was 6 points as Charlotte slowly built the lead. While Charlotte was able to get the lead to double digits they weren’t able to keep it there. It took those last 38 seconds with the two ejections for the Hornets to take a double digit lead for good. The teams traded lay ups at the end and that got us to the final of 103-91.

Kemba Walker and Nicholas Batum each had 20 points to lead the Hornets in scoring. Those 20 points where just part of Batum’s triple-double as he had a game high 11 rebounds and handed out a game high 10 assists. Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky III (off the bench) each had 13 points while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 12 points.

Jimmy Butler was the Bulls and the games leading scorer with 26 points. Doug McDermott had 15 points off the bench while Dwayne Wade added 12 points. Nikola Mirotic came off the bench to score 11 points and grab a team high 10 rebounds. Taj Gibson also scored in double figures with 10 points. Rajon Rondo tied for the game high in assists with 10.

The Hornets get a couple of days off for Christmas. There next game is Monday night against the 7-22 Brooklyn Nets in Brooklyn. The Bulls are part of the NBA’s Christmas extravaganza as they play the 3rd game of 5 in San Antonio against the 24-6 Spurs.

How was your week

It looks as though the Cleveland Indians gave their fans something they wanted this Christmas season. As it’s being reported that Edwin Encarnacion has agreed to a 3 year $60  million dollar deal with Cleveland. The deal also includes a 4th option year at $25 million dollars or the Indians have a buyout option for $5 million dollars. Encarnacion hit 42 home runs and led the American League in RBI’s with 127. Encarnacion is a career .266 hitting and has 310 career home runs. With the Toronto Blue Jays last season Encarnacion played 75 games at 1st base and was the DH 86 times. Encarnacion games played should look very similar with the Indians as he’ll share time with Carlos Santana at 1st base and as the teams DH. Encarnacion will fil the spot of Mike Napoli who is still on the free agent market, but there have been reports the Texas Rangers are interested in his services.

It looks as though the Atlanta Braves have decided that outfielder Ender Inciate will be part of there rebuilding plan. The Braves sign Inciate to a 5 year extension worth $30.525 million dollars. There is also an option for a 6th year which the Braves can choose to buy out for $1.025 million dollars. Inciate is 26 years old and 2016 was his first season with the Braves after playing two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Inciate hit .291 with 24 doubles, 7 triples and 3 home runs. Inciate stole 16 bases while being caught 7 times. Inciate played 120 games in centerfield last season while also playing 10 games in leftfield. Inciate has played all three outfield positions in his career and had a .991 fielding percentage in centerfield last season. Inciate names came up quite a bit at the trade deadline last season and now that he’s signed to a very team friendly deal the question becomes. Will he be with the Braves long term? Or will other teams be even more interested in him now that he comes with some control?

Remember the beginning of the 2016 season when Jose Bautista said he wouldn’t give the Blue Jays a hometown discount and he would be looking for $25 to $30 million dollars a season in his new contract. Well after making those demands Bautista pretty much went out and stunk it up. Bautista played in 116 games due to injuries and hit just .234. His power numbers where also down as he managed just 22 home runs after hitting 40 and 35 the two seasons before. Bautista is 36 years old and you have to wonder if it was the injuries that caused the down season or are his skills in decline. The Blue Jays did offer Bautista the qualifying offer of $17.2 million dollars after last season, but he didn’t sign it. There are reports out now that Bautista may take a 1 year deal, but would like to get more than the $17.2 million dollars that the qualifying offer would’ve given him. Bautista isn’t a great defender; he has a career fielding percentage of .982 as an outfielder. You have to wonder how he might hold up with a National League team where he wouldn’t have the benefit of getting that break from fielding as a DH. Bautista is one of the bigger names left out on the free agent market; so it will be interesting to see where he signs and how much he signs for.

Are you ready for the National Football League to take over your Saturday? There are 12 games on the schedule for Saturday. There are also two games on Sunday and then the Monday night game. Of course there was the Thursday night game where the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants 24-19.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles has rejoined the team in New England for today’s game. Bowles was admitted to the hospital on Friday with an undisclosed illness and it was unknown if he would even make it to today’s game. Bowles didn’t travel with the team Friday after being hospitalized and it was being reported the team initially feared Bowles suffered a heart attack. Doctors have determined that was not the case. Bowles arrived at the team hotel Saturday morning and will travel with the team to Gillette Stadium for today’s game against the Patriots. The Jets said it was still unclear whether Bowles would coach the team from the sideline or the coaches booth. Assistant head coach Mike Caldwell ran the walk through practice Friday at the team facility and is on standby to handle head coaching duties if Bowles hadn’t been able to make it to the game.Bowles is the third NFL head coach to suffer an in-season medical emergency. Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak experienced a complex migraine condition that forced him to miss one game, and Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer missed one game to undergo emergency eye surgeries.

In that Jets/Patriots game today it looks as though wide receiver Michael Floyd will be active for the Patriots. Floyd was released by the Arizona Cardinals on December 14th; two days after he received a DUI. Floyd is facing six charges: obstructing a roadway; DUI impaired to the slightest degree; DUI blood alcohol content above 0.08, 0.15 and 0.20; and failure to obey a police officer. All charges are Class 1 misdemeanors. If convicted Floyd could face jail time. There was some controversy to the Patriots signing Floyd after the video of his DUI came out. Floyd was asleep at the wheel of his vehicle while it was still in gear and was very unresponsive to the police officers instructions in the video. This will be Floyd’s first game action with the Patriots. Floyd is a free agent after this season; so he has a couple of games to prove to teams that he can still produce on the field. He’ll also have to convince teams that his off the field troubles are behind him.

On Thursday night the Boston Bruins beat the Florida Panthers 3-1 on the ice. Now it seems like this is just a normal Thursday night NHL game with Boston getting a win, but when you look into the scoring it’s not. On the Panthers only goal of the night the assist went to Jaromir Jagr. That assist broke a tie Jagr was in for 2nd place on the NHL’s all time leading scores list. Jagr now has 1888 career points in his NHL career. Jagr trails just Wayne Gretzky on the list, but he trails by quite a bit. “The Great One” has 2857 career points and at 44 years of age I don’t think Jagr will be around long enough to catch Gretzky.

Jagr started his NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penquins where he played from 1990 to 2001. Then Jagr was with the Washington Capitals from 2001 to 2004. Jagr then went to the New York Rangers from 2004 to 2008. Jagr who was born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia decided after the 2008 season that he wanted to return home to play. Jagr signed with the Avangard Omsk of the KHL and played there from 2008 to 2011. Jagr returned to the NHL in 2011 signing a one year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers. In 2012 Jagr signed with the Dallas Stars. Jágr was traded to the Boston Bruins in exchange for two prospects and a draft pick. In 2013 Jagr signed with the New Jersey Devils. Jagr was with the Devils until February of 2015 when he was traded to the Florida Panthers for a 2nd and a 3rd round pick in the 2015 draft. Jagr is still with the Panthers.

Who knows how many more seasons Jagr will play in the NHL, but he’s a had long well traveled Hall of Fame career.

Merry Christmas

Wednesday nights 107-97 loss by the Chicago Bulls to the Washington Wizards was the Bulls 4th loss in there last 5 games. Also in the Bulls last 3 losses they’ve been beaten by double figures. With the win Washington improves there record to 13-15 while the Bulls fall back to the .500 mark at 14-14.

The teams where pretty even though the first part of the opening quarter. Washington found itself with a one point lead at 13-12, but the Bulls went on a 21 to 9 run the final 6 minutes of the quarter and built an 11 point lead 33-22 by the end of the 1st.

The Bulls where able to keep the lead in double digits and after a Dwayne Wade three point play the Bulls had the largest lead of 13 points at 43-30. The Wizards went on a 10 to 1 run and cut the lead to 4 points at 44-40. Washington came all the way back to take the lead at 53-52, but the Bulls where able to take the lead back going into halftime at 56-55.

Washington was able to tie the game again at 61 all and the Wizards then went on to build a 5 point lead at 71-66 before the Bulls came back. The teams found themselves tied again at 75 all and each team was able to add two more points before the quarter ended with the teams tied again at 77 all.

The teams tie 4 times to start the 4th quarter, but Washington scored 6 straight points to take a 91-85 lead. Chicago never got closer than 3 points again as the Wizards where able to continue to build there lead. It reached double digits for the first time with 1:05 left to play. The Bulls knocked the lead down a few points before Washington got it back to 10 points by the end of the game for a 107-97 win.

John Wall led the Wizards and was the games high scorer with 23 points. Wall also handed out a team high 9 assists. Bradley Beal added 21 points while Marcin Gortat had 14 points. Marcus Thornton added 10 points off the Wizards bench. Gortat and Markieff Morris each had 11 rebounds to tie for game high honors.

The Bulls where led by Jimmy Butler with 20 points. Dwayne Wade had 19 points while Taj Gibson scored 17 points. Nikola Mirotic (11 points) and Doug McDermott (10 points) came off the Bulls bench to score in double figures. Butler and Gibson also tied for game high rebound honors with 11 while Rajon Rondo handed out a game high 10 assists.

Washington has now won 4 of there last 5 games and they’ll get a day off before they wrap up their three game road trip Friday night against the13-14 Milwaukee Bucks. The Bulls have a short two game road trip starting Friday night against the 16-13 Charlotte Hornets.

After suffering back to back blow out losses last week the Chicago Bulls turned the tables last night and got a 31 point blow out win. The Bulls beat the Detroit Pistons Monday night 113-82. The Bulls got back over .500 with the win at 14-13. The Pistons fell to 14-16 with the loss.

Chicago got off to a fast start scoring the first 8 points of the game. The Bulls then scored 6 of the next 8 points scored in the game. The Bulls had their biggest lead of the quarter at 16 points after a Nikola Mirotic basket with 1:15 left in the quarter. The teams traded buckets to end the quarter; so the Bulls had there 16 point lead back at 35-19 after one quarter.

The 2nd quarter started just like the opening quarter did, but this time the Bulls scored the first 10 points of the quarter. The Pistons actually went on a 7-0 run after that, but that just cut the Bulls lead to 19 points. After that run the Pistons managed just 8 more points in the quarter and the Bulls really pulled away going into halftime with a 35 point lead 69-34.

With the game well in hand the teams played a very even 3rd quarter that saw the Pistons outscore the Bulls 29 to 28 in the quarter. Neither team put together a run of more than 3 points in the quarter and the Bulls went into the 4th quarter with a 34 point lead at 97 to 63.

The 4th quarter was a very low scoring, but even quarter. The Pistons did outscore the Bulls again in the 4th quarter, but just by 3 points 19 to 16. The Bulls starters spent the entire 4th quarter on the bench as they cruised to a 113 to 82 victory.

Jimmy Butler was the Bulls and the games high scorer with 19 points. Taj Gibson had 16 points. Robin Lopez had 14 points while Dwayne Wade scored 13 points. Rajon Rondo scored 10 points and also grabbed a game high 14 rebounds and handed out a game high 8 assists. Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic came off the Bulls bench to each score 13 points.

Jon Leuer was one of two Pistons to score in double figures coming off the bench to lead the team with 16 points. Tobias Harris just reached double figures with 10 points. Leuer was also Detroit’s leading rebounder with 5 while Ish Smith led the team with 7 assists.

The Bulls get a day off and then they’ll host the 12-15 Washington Wizards Wednesday night. Detroit also gets a day off and they get to head home as they’ll host the 18-11 Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

So Thursday night we had another uninteresting NFL game as the Seattle Seahawks easily handled the Los Angeles Rams 24-3. Unless you’re a Seahawks fan it had to be a tough game to watch. Jared Goff was 13 of 25 for 135 yards and was sacked 4 times in the game. Goff was actually knocked out of this game and is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. With the won the Seahawks clinched the NFC West and are in line to get a 1st round bye in the playoffs.

Goff is now 0-5 as an NFL starter, but he appears to have made some progress even though the team hasn’t won with him under center. The Rams have two games left on their schedule and they’re both at home. In Week 16 they host the San Francisco 49ers and then in the final week of the season they host the Arizona Cardinals. There is a chance that the Rams could win one or even both of these games, but really that doesn’t matter. What has to matter to the Rams right now is to continue to have Goff improve and then try to find a head coach or a quarterback coach that can develop him into a quality NFL starting quarterback. The Rams don’t even have to hire an offensive minded head coach they just have to get the right guys under him that can work with Goff. The Rams gave up 6 draft picks to get Goff. Los Angeles gave the Tennessee Titans four 2016 draft picks; a 1st round pick, two 2nd round picks and a 3rd round pick. Los Angeles also sent a 2017 1st round pick and a 2017 3rd round pick in this deal. Besides the 1st overall pick the Rams used to select Goff they also got two 2016 draft picks in the trade a 4th round pick and a 6th round pick. Now Goff may never develop into a guy who should’ve been taken #1 overall, but he’s a quarterback and that’s where they get drafted at. Don’t forget Sam Bradford was also a #1 overall pick. The biggest question the Rams need to answer is; was Goff the right choice? While I don’t expect Goff to turn the Rams around by himself and lead them to a Super Bowl, but he can be a quality NFL quarterback on a playoff team with the right help. Where can the Rams look to help Goff. Well he’s been sacked 15 times I his 5 starts; so maybe an offensive lineman or two could help. Quick name the Rams leading receiver. Did you guess Kenny Britt? Britt has 67 catches for 987 yards and 5 touchdowns. Britt was a 1st round selection (#30 overall) by the Tennessee Titans in 2009 and was considered a bust for them. This is the most receptions and yards Britt has ever had in a season, but is he a #1 wide receiver? Those are just a couple of things the Rams can do to help Goff improve. Of course without a 1st round pick in next years draft they might have to find another way to get Goff that help. So let me know what you think. How do you see Jared Goff’s career going?

There’s also an NFL game tonight as the league moves into the Saturday market with the college football regular season wrapped up. Tonight will see the 8-5 Miami Dolphins at the 4-9 New York Jets in an AFC East match up. The Dolphins are tied with the Denver Broncos for the final AFC wild card spot, but the Broncos hold the tiebreaker; so Miami has to find a way to pass them in the standings. The Dolphins go into this game without there starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill sprained two knee ligaments in last weeks win over the Arizona Cardinals. Matt Moore will take over under center for Tannehill. Moore has been with the Dolphins since 2011, but that was also the last time he started a game. Counting coming in for Tannehill last week Moore has played in 7 games in 5 seasons. It’s a tough spot for Moore to be put in, but maybe it helps that his first start is against the Jets. New York seems to be having trouble on both sides of the football. The defense is ranked 19th overall; 17th against the run and 22nd against the pass. The offense is ranked 22nd overall; 10th running the football, 26th in passing. Ryan Fitzpatrick came back on a one year deal to quarterback the team, but has been inconsistent to say the least. Geno Smith took over and got hurt and is out for the season. It seems to be Bryce Petty’s turn and you have to wonder if we’ll see Christian Hackenberg before the season ends. Maybe the weather in East Rutherford will give the Jets an advantage as snow is in the forecast. Now I haven’t received Mr. Fantasy’s pick for the game, but Dan the Man and Schaumburg Stu have picked the Dolphins to win this game. I actually did go with the Jets to win tonight.

The Miami Marlins weren’t able to sign Kenley Jansen, but they have added two relievers to there bullpen these last two days. First the Marlins announced the signing of Junichi Tazawa to a two year $12 million dollar deal. Then it was reported that Miami has signed Brad Ziegler to a two year $16 million dollar deal. Interestingly both of these pitchers finished last season pitching out of the Boston red Sox bullpen. Tazawa has spent his entire 7 year career with the Red Sox. Last season he was 3-2 with a 4.17 E.R.A, in 53 games. Ziegler started the 2016 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks before being traded to the Red Sox. Combined Ziegler was 4-7 with a 2.25 E.R.A. with 22 saves in 69 games. These two signings add some more depth to a Marlins bullpen that loss Mike Dunn this week. Dunn signed a 3 year $19 million dollar deal with the Colorado Rockies earlier in the week.

If you where hoping your favorite team would add some bullpen time is running out. The relievers seem to be coming off the free agent board very quickly. Will have to see who the next reliever is to sign.

Thursday night the Milwaukee Bucks easily beat the Chicago Bulls in the first of a home and home series 108 to 97 at the Bradley Center. Friday the teams moved to the United Center in Chicago, but the results where very much the same as the Bucks easily handled the Bulls again this time 95-69. You have to wonder if the younger Bucks were better suited to playing back to back nights as they shot 46.3% from the filed while the older possibly weary Bulls shot just 30.4% from the field. With the win Milwaukee moved a game over .500 at 13-12 while the loss sends the Bulls back to .500 at 13-13.

The Bulls only lead of the night came when Robin Lopez hit to free throw to give Chicago a 2-0 lead. The Bulls where only able to score 13 more points in the quarter after the Lopez free throws while Milwaukee put up 34 1st quarter points to take a 19 point lead.

The teams played a dead even 2nd quarter as they both scored 22 points in the 2nd. Of course that didn’t help the Bulls much as they never cut the Bucks lead to less than 18 points. Going into halftime the Bucks still had there 19 point lead 56 to 37.

Neither team was very good in the 3rd quarter as Milwaukee scored 18 points while the Bulls managed 15 points in the quarter. Milwaukee did start the quarter on a 9-2 run to extend their lead to 27 points. Even with a rough quarter for both teams Milwaukee still added 3 points to there lead and went into the final quarter up 74-52.

Even with the outcome of the game looking like it was figured out Milwaukee kept there starters in for a good part of the 4th quarter. With 4 minutes left in the game the Bucks had a 30 point lead 94 to 64. Neither team put up many points in those final 4 minutes, The Bulls scored 5 while the Bucks had just 1 point to get the game to the final 95-69.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the games leading scorer with 22 points. Antetokounmpo had the most assists in the game with 11. Jabari Parker scored 12 points while Tony Snell and John Henson where the other two Bucks starters in double figures with 10 points each. Greg Monroe came off the Bucks bench to post a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing a game high 12 rebounds. Mirza Teletovic also came off the Bucks bench to hit double figures with 13 points.

The Bulls had just two players score in double figures. Dwayne Wade had 12 points to lead the team while Bobby Portis came off the bench to add 10 points. Portis also had a team high 8 rebounds while Jimmy Butler handed out 6 assists to lead the team.

Milwaukee will get a couple of days off before they host the Eastern Conference leading (18-6) Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday night. The Bulls are now on a 3 game losing streak and will get the weekend off before they host the 14-14 Detroit Pistons.

I the first of a home and home series the Milwaukee Bucks easily beat the Chicago Bulls 108-97. Milwaukee had a 24 point lead at one point in the game and they cruised to an 11 point victory at home. Milwaukee got back to .500 with the win at 12-12 while the Bulls are still a game over .500 at 13-12.

The tone for the game was set right at the start as the first bucket of the game for Milwaukee was a 3-pointer by Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee never trailed after that first shot and the closet the Bulls got was 2 points at 10-8. The 1st quarter ended with Milwaukee ahead 30-18.

The 2nd quarter looked like it was going to go the same way as the 1st quarter did as Milwaukee built a 26 point lead after a Jabari Parker bucket made it a 56-30 game. The Bulls did what they could to cut into the lead the rest of the quarter, but they could only get it down to 19 points. The Bucks ended up taking a 64-45 lead into halftime.

The quarter started out as even as it could be one when one team has a big lead. Milwaukee started to add to the lead and when Jabari Parker dunked with 5:24 left in the quarter the Bucks had a 24 point lead at 78-54. That was Milwaukee’s biggest lead of the quarter. This time the Bulls could only manage to knock 2 points off the Bucks lead and the quarter ended with Milwaukee ahead 88-66.

With the game well in hand the Bucks where able to get their starters off the floor. The Bulls did manage to outscore the Bucks 31 to 20 in the 4th quarter, but it was too little too late as the Bucks lead was to big to overcome. Matthew Dellavedova put the finishing touches on the night with a 3-pointer to get the game to it’s final score of 108-97.

The Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo was the games high scorer with 30 points. Antetokounmpo was also the games top rebounder grabbing 14. Jabari Parker had 28 points while Mirza Teletovic came off the Milwaukee bench to add 13 points. Matthew Dellavedova just missed a double-double as he had 9 points and a game high 9 assists. John Henson also grabbed double digit rebounds for the Bucks getting 10.

The Bulls where led by Jimmy Butler who had 21 points. Dwayne Wade score points while Taj Gibson added 19. Rajon Rondo was the Bulls leader in assists with 8. Robin Lopez, Bobby Portis and Cristiano Felicio all grabbed 6 rebounds to tie for the team lead.

It’s a quick turn around for these teams as they’ll meet again tonight with the game being in Chicago tonight. Milwaukee is looking to get back over .500 with a win while the Bulls would like to stay over .500. The Bulls are 7-4 at home while the Bucks are 3-6 on the road this season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves came into Tuesday night game on a four game losing streak and when the Chicago Bulls went up 21 points in the 2nd quarter it looked as though a 5th loss in a row was going to happen. Instead the Timberwolves where able to come all the way back to snap their losing streak with a 99-94 win.

This is the first time former Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau was facing his former team. Thibodeau coached the Bulls from the 2010-11 season until the end of the 2014-15 season. Thibodeau had a record of 255-139 with the Bulls and never finished worse than 2nd place in the Central division. Thibodeau also won NBA Coach of the Year in 2011 with the Bulls.

The 1st quarter was all Bulls as they put up 38 points in the quarter compared to Minnesota’s 22 points. After a 10-0 run the Bulls had a 26-6 lead with 5:16 left in the quarter. The Timberwolves where able to chip away at the Bulls lead a little, but still ended the quarter down 16 points; 38 to 22.

The 2nd quarter looked like it was going to be much like the 1st quarter. After a Doug McDermott lay up with 6:37 left to play in the quarter the Bulls had their biggest lead of the night; 21 points at 51-30.
