The Chicago Bulls came into the game on a three game winning streak, but that came to an end when the Oklahoma City Thunder beat them 109-94. Jimmy Butler was sent home after being taken out of the game in the 3rd quarter. Butler was ill coming into the game and there was a chance he wouldn’t play at all. This was the first of  a back to back for the Bulls and it looks as though Butler won’t play Tuesday night and Dwayne Wade will also miss that game. Wade normally skips one game in a back to back set to rest.

Believe it or not the Bulls only lead of the game came when Taj Gibson hit a jump shot for the first points of the game and the Bulls lead 2-0. Chicago did manage to come back and tie the game at 10 all. Oklahoma City finished the quarter on a 16-10 run to take a 26-20 after one quarter.

The 2nd quarter saw Oklahoma City build a 17 point lead 39-22. The Bulls did score the next eight points as part of an 18-4 run that cut the Thunder’s lead to three points. The Bulls couldn’t keep the run going though as they scored just six points the remainder of the quarter as Oklahoma City built it’s lead to 15 points going into halftime ahead 61-46.

The Bulls mad a 11-6 run to cut the Thunder’s lead to 10 points (67-57) with 6:50 left in the quarter, but that was the closet Chicago could get. The rest of the quarter belonged to Oklahoma City. The Thunder went on a 27 to 7 run to build there biggest lead of the game (25 points) 89-64. The Bulls did manage to score the final three points of the quarter to make the score 89-67 at the end of three quarters.

With the result of the game appearing to be taken care of Oklahoma City was able to get there starters some rest. Chicago did outscored Oklahoma City 27 to 20 in the final quarter, but it wasn’t close to enough for a comeback win. By knocking seven points of the Oklahoma City lead just meant the Bulls lost by 15 points 109-94.

Steven Adams was the Thunder’s leading scorer with 22 points. Russell Westbrook had a double-double with 21 points and a game high 14 assists. Westbrook missed a triple-double by 1 rebound. Enes Kanter had 20 points and his 11 rebounds tied for the game high coming off the Oklahoma City bench. Victor Oladipo also tallied 13 points for the Thunder.

Chicago was led by Dwayne Wade with 22 points. Michael Carter-Williams had 15 points while Jerian Grant and Cristiano Felicio came off the Bulls bench to score 11 points. Felicio also grabbed 11 rebounds to tie for the game high. Jimmy Butler did hand out 7 assists to lead the team before exiting the game.

The win improves Oklahoma City’s record to 23-16. The Thunder will get a day off before they return home to host the 24-16 Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night. The loss drops Chicago back to .500 at 19-19. This was the first of back to back games for the Bulls as they must play tonight in Washington against the 18-18 Wizards.

The Pacers scored the first 7 points of the game and as it turned out they would never trail the in game. The Pacers built there biggest lead of the quarter and the game when they took a 22-8 lead after a Myles turner dunk. The Bulls spent the rest of the quarter cutting into that 14 point lead and by the end of the 1st quarter they had knocked it down to 6 points at 28-22.

Indiana was able to add a couple of points to there lead 71-59 after Jeff Teague hit a free throw. The closest the Bulls could get in the quarter was 8 points and while they did outscored the Pacers in the quarter they where only able to knock 1 point off the Indiana lead. The Bulls went on a 12 to 6 run to start the quarter and had the lead down to 5 at 90-85. Aaron Brooks hit a 3-pointer to make the lead 8 points and then the Bulls scored the next 5 points and the lead was down to 3 points at 93-90. After Michael Carter-Williams completed an old school 3-point play the Bulls had the game even at 95 all. The Pacers where able to get the lead back to 6 points, but a Dwayne Wade jumper made it 105-101 with 1:43 left to play. Sadly the officials had a hand in how the end of the game played out as they made a terrible clear path foul call that game Indiana 2 free throws and the ball back. Thaddeus Young made the 2 free throws and with those free throws Indiana scored the final 6 points of the game to take a 111-101 win.

Paul George led the at for the Pacers and was the games high scorer with 32 points. Thaddeus Young had 17 points while Myles Turner added 15 points. The Chicago Bulls need a Jimmy Butler jumper as time expired to escape with a victory over the eight win Brooklyn Nets 101-99 Wednesday night. While it was the 2nd win in a row for the Bulls and the victory gets them back to .500 at 16-16; this game couldn’t of helped build any confidence in a team that is hanging around the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoff standings. With the loss Brooklyn falls to 8-23 on the season and 1-15 in road games. It was quite the struggle for the Bulls to get a win on their home court against a team that appears headed to the Draft Lottery; again.

Brooklyn started off scoring the first 9 points of the game. The Bulls didn’t lead in the game until Nikola Mirotic hit a 3-pointer to give the Bulls a 21-20 lead with 2:31 left in the quarter. The Bulls started the 3rd quarter on a 8 to 5 run to tie the game at 54 all. The game was tied 5 different times before the Nets built a 5 point lead at 65-60. Brooklyn then built a 7 point lead with 3:01 to play at 97-90. Then the Bulls went on a 9-0 run to take the lead with 27 seconds left. Brook Lopez tied the game for the Nets at 99 all and it looked as though we might be headed to overtime. With 12 seconds left the Bulls used a timeout to get there shooters (Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic) into the game, but it was all Jimmy Butler for the Bulls as he hit a game winning jumper as the game clock expired to give the Bulls a 101-99 win.

Jimmy Butler was the Bulls and the games high scorer with 40 points. Butler was a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line. Butler also grabbed a team high 11 rebounds. The Chicago Bulls shot just 38.6% from the field, but still found a way to break there thee losing streak with a 90 to 85 win over the Indiana Pacers. Indiana shot 42% from the field, but the bulls mad up the difference by shooting 18 more free throws in the game.

The Bulls got out to a six point lead early in the 1st quarter at 11-5. The Pacers where never able to get closer than three points in the quarter as the Bulls slowly built there lead. It looked as though the Bulls would finish the quarter with a double digit lead, but Aaron Brooks (former Bull) hit a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left to cut the leas to nine points. Chicago had a 28-19 lead after the 1st quarter.

The Bulls added to there lead at the start pf the 2nd quarter and when Jerian Grant hit a jumper with 7:33 left the Bulls had there biggest lead at 16 points; 41-25. Indiana was able to get the lead down to 10 points by the end of the quarter. The Pacers finished the 2nd quarter on a 16-10 run. The Bulls took a 51-41 lead at the half.

The Bulls where able to keep the lead at or around double digits. The biggest lead the Bulls could build was 12 points on a couple of occasions, but then there poor shooting started to show. In the last three minutes of the quarter Indiana outscored the Bulls 12-2 and cut the lead to just 2 points at 63-61 through three quarters.

Dwayne Wade was the Bulls and the games high scorer with 21 points. Nikola Mirotic came off the Bulls bench to score 20 points. Jimmy Butler had a tough night shooting going 3 of 12 from the field, but did go 9 of 12 from the free throw line and scored 16 points. Taj Gibson and Jerian Grant (off the bench) each had 10 points. Robin Lopez grabbed a game high 12 rebounds for the Bulls while Wade, Butler and Rajon Rondo each handed out 5 assists to tie for the team lead.

Are you use to Christmas day being an NBA day? There are five games on the schedule and the third one featured the San Antonio Spurs getting a 119 to 100 win over the Chicago Bulls. San Antonio improves to 25-6 with the win while the Bulls fall to 14-16. This was the Bulls sixth loss in seven games and it’s also the fifth time in those six losses that they’ve been beaten by double digit points.

The Bulls where in trouble right from the start as the Spurs scored the first 8 points of the game as well as scoring 17 of the first 19 points scored in the game. San Antonio seemed to make every shot they took in the quarter as they built the lead to 20 points at 30-10. The Bulls spent the rest of the quarter trying to cut the lead down. By the end of the quarter the lead was down to 11 as the Spurs led 36-25 after one.

After being down by 20 points early in the game the Bulls used the 2nd quarter to try and get themselves back into it. They got very close after  jimmy Butler dunk with 1:34 left in the quarter capped a Bulls 24 to 16 run and cut the Spurs lead to just 3 at 52-49. The Spurs where able to add a few more points back onto there lead and they went into halftime up 55-50.

The Bulls went on another run this time of 13 to 8 and believe it or not the game was tied at 63 all. Then Jimmy Butler actually gave the Bulls their first lead of the game when he hit a 3-pointer to make it 70-67 Chicago. The lead didn’t last long as the Spurs went on a 20 to 6 run to end the quarter. San Antonio took a 87-76 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

The Bulls didn’t have another run in them in the final quarter as they could only cut the lead to seven points on two occasions. Once the Spurs got a double digit lead the Bulls could only bring it under that one time. The Spurs lead got to 20 points with just under a minute to play, but a Bills free throw made the final 119-100.

LaMarcus Aldridge was the games leading scorer with 33 points Aldridge went 15 of 20 from the field in the game. Kawhi Leonard added 25 points and grabbed a game high 10 rebounds. Tony Parker scored 13 points and had a game high 8 assists while former Bull Pau Gasol had 10 points.

Chicago is in another one of those scheduling quirks like earlier in the season. Chicago is in the middle of a three games in four days stretch as they’ll return home for a game tomorrow against the 15-16 Indiana Pacers.

Thursday night the Milwaukee Bucks easily beat the Chicago Bulls in the first of a home and home series 108 to 97 at the Bradley Center. Friday the teams moved to the United Center in Chicago, but the results where very much the same as the Bucks easily handled the Bulls again this time 95-69. You have to wonder if the younger Bucks were better suited to playing back to back nights as they shot 46.3% from the filed while the older possibly weary Bulls shot just 30.4% from the field. With the win Milwaukee moved a game over .500 at 13-12 while the loss sends the Bulls back to .500 at 13-13.

The Bulls only lead of the night came when Robin Lopez hit to free throw to give Chicago a 2-0 lead. The Bulls where only able to score 13 more points in the quarter after the Lopez free throws while Milwaukee put up 34 1st quarter points to take a 19 point lead.

The teams played a dead even 2nd quarter as they both scored 22 points in the 2nd. Of course that didn’t help the Bulls much as they never cut the Bucks lead to less than 18 points. Going into halftime the Bucks still had there 19 point lead 56 to 37.

Neither team was very good in the 3rd quarter as Milwaukee scored 18 points while the Bulls managed 15 points in the quarter. Milwaukee did start the quarter on a 9-2 run to extend their lead to 27 points. Even with a rough quarter for both teams Milwaukee still added 3 points to there lead and went into the final quarter up 74-52.

Even with the outcome of the game looking like it was figured out Milwaukee kept there starters in for a good part of the 4th quarter. With 4 minutes left in the game the Bucks had a 30 point lead 94 to 64. Neither team put up many points in those final 4 minutes, The Bulls scored 5 while the Bucks had just 1 point to get the game to the final 95-69.

The Bulls faced the Trail Blazers without starting point guard Rajon Rondo. Rondo was suspended for the game for “Conduct detrimental to the team”. It was reported that Rondo was yelling at the Bulls coaching staff specifically assistant coach Jim Boylin. The report also said that Rondo has apologized to the coaching staff and the team and will play tonight against the Pistons.

With the outcome apparently I hand the Bulls bench saw quite a bit of 4th quarter action.
